Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Review by Ippongi_Ryuta

"O-... O-... OUENDAAAN!!!"

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan Review

Introduction

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan is a Japanese rhythm music game released in 2005, it had such a high import rate that an English version was released as Elite Beat Agents out of Japan.
This game got many non-rhythm gamers (like me) to actually like rhythm music games and do I like it?... I sure do...

Graphics - 10/10

The graphics in this game is perfect; from the character design to the scenario and to the hit/phrase markers.

Sound - 10/10

The sound in this game, is again perfect, you hear awesome voices like "Tanaka Hajime!" and "Ouendaaaan!" and who can forget: "Osu!"

Gameplay - 10/10

The most important thing of any game: Gameplay, and this game has it perfectly! They polished and polished this game so perfectly that it's almost impossible to find any flaws in this addicting and awesome game, the aim of the game is to tap the markers that go with the beats to one of the well-chosen fifteen songs of the game. If you fail your Ouendan spirit bar will drop and eventually run out in which case you lose the level.

Difficulty - 10/10

They give four difficulty levels in this game: Lighthearted cheering, bold cheering, fierce cheering and magnificent cheering. Or to put it in a clearer way: Easy, normal, hard and insane/very hard.
You start the game with only the easy and normal difficulty, beating normal can unlock hard which when completed unlocks insane, the names of the difficulty does what it says on the tin; If you want an easy game pick easy, if you want a hard game pick hard, it's as simple as that.

Replayability - 10/10

This game is ALL about replaying the levels again and again on each of the difficulty levels; You want to beat your previous score! You want to get an S Rank! You want to show off to your friends your mad skills of insane quick tapping!

Overall - 50/50 100% S Rank!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan has a charm that can never be matched, once you beat a level you get that "Oh just one more go" feeling forcing you to play more and more of the game, should you get this game then?... Well... Hell yes! Import it! Get it now and start poking your screen to death, I played so much Ouendan and Elite beat Agents that my DS Lite actually broke into two pieces... ;_; Damn you spinners! Damn you amazing game!... OUENDAAAN!!!!
