Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations
Review by TheLegendFMS
"I can't object Phoenix Wright's last game!"
Phoenix Wright Trial and Tribulations is the final game that Phoenix will be the main character in. He went out like a champion though! He is really only the star for 2 1/2 cases while a younger Mia Fey takes 2 and someone else takes a 1/2 of a case with a total of 5 cases.
Gameplay
The gameplay hasn't changed at all. You still investigate first, then go to trial and cross-examine people to see if they are lying and everything. The Psyche-Locks from JFA are in there and are still the same. I'm not to fond of the investigation parts, but I love the court cases since their so compelling and crazy. You control the game using the stylus or using the button on the DS. Either way, it's a great experience.
Story
The story takes off from JFA. Phoenix Wright still solves cases with Maya as his sidekick. But, the first case and the fourth case are Mia's and you get to see here beginnings as a lawyer. Since it always has a changing story, some are good, while the others need work. But overall all, it's very enjoyable and the last case's story is the best one out of all the Phoenix Wright games.
Graphics/Sound
The graphics are 2D but it's beautiful! All the characters animations when their in court are cool to see, especially if they say something that contradicts a statement. And I always loved the music in Phoenix Wright. It plays the suspense theme when something contradictory happens. It plays another theme when Phoenix proves the witness or whoever it could be wrong. It's very good, but most of the themes are reused over from the other two PW games.
Play Time/Replay
It takes a while to actually beat the game. I like to spread my cases out but it probably can be beaten in 6-10 hours, but it's an intense couple of hours. I only replay the game when I want to see the end again, since it was so crazy how everything came together, but all in all, not much to come back for.
I give Phoenix Wright 3 a 9. I would have given it a 10 if two cases weren't too short. That's my only complain with this otherwise perfect game. It's a nice farewell to Phoenix and the gang and I now open my arms out to Apollo Justice and his crew!
