Mario Party DS
Review by oiramparty
"Both a nice single-player and multi-player"
How many Mario Parties have they created?! Well, this one tops the list. At first glance, it seems just like every other party created. But if you play it, you might notice some slight differences that make it more enjoyable.
Story: 7/10
Mario games really need to work on story, but this one is actually a bit more interesting than the others. You have Mario and crew getting an invitation to Bowser's castle for a buffet. The brute is apologizing for being a meanie. Now, here's the part where they should've been a bit more careful. They're trapped at his castle and shrunken down to the size of... Well, I don't know. Later, you'll be freeing Donkey Kong from stone, and saving a koopa's grandfather.
Music: 10/10
The sound really wants you to put your ear on to the speakers. The company put the right sounds onto the right minigame, or board. It's the type of tune you'd want to replay over and over again, even when everybody around you is going crazy. The characters sound good, except maybe for Toad??
Graphics: 10/10
Nice pictures and good character designs make an excellent view for the player, especially when they're using their favorite character to wipe out the game. The other obstacles and items make the boards exciting.
Gameplay: 11/10
Ok... Maybe you're not supposed to give an 11. But the minigames, extras, and multiplayer make this even better than some other parties. Sure some minigames are completely luck-based, but most of them aren't. It provides a challenge; every player has at least one minigame they just can't defeat, no matter how hard they try. Multiplayer makes it convient for you to play with other DS owners. The extra ways to play minigames make you either jam the A button, or throw the DS against the wall. You get to play with extra characters, such as Toad (who isn't normally in very many parties), Wario, and Waluigi. The bosses actually provide you with a challenge, which isn't normally seen in many parties. Note. be prepared for many practices on the boss stages.
Overall: 9/10
So why are you still sitting there, looking at the computer? Why don't you go get it now, and start your frustration, along with the many others that are still yet destroying the screen with the stylus, or jamming the A button as if their lives depended on it.
