Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Review by 0megamon
"They've done it again. Apollo Justice!"
When I heard that the next Ace Attorney game was going to star another Attorney, I was pretty skeptical. Then when I heard that Phoenix Wright lost his job as an attorney, I got even more sad. But once I turned on the DS and started playing, it didn't really make a difference. You start connecting with the characters right away. Although Apollo isn't quite as cool as Phoenix, hes still as connectible and understandable as Phoenix is. Although many characters go, there are many new characters that come. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney still manages to make really creative and funny characters that really capture the soul of the Ace Attorney series. Now on to the rankings.
Graphics: I'd give any Ace Attorney game a 10/10 for graphics, but this time around the graphics have been a bit improved. The characters look more realistic white still maintaining they're anime and funny style of art to them. The game also now includes 3D graphics, which although are simplistic, look really great.
10/10
Story: The folliwng might contain some spoilers. Although I think the cases could of been a little bit longer each, they were all really well written. Each case had a pivitol plot with exciting new characters, sticking to the plot evidence, and not only that, but the cases are really fun to read. In my opinion, the cases that aren't much connected with the main plot (Case 2 and 3) are better than the past Ace Attornies cases that aren't connected to the story. Through out each case, you still wonder who was the murderer the whole time. It's not exactly obvious who it is, and you'll think its a bunch of different people through out the cases. As for the cases that connect with the main story (Case 1 and 4) they're really beautifuly written. Things that you'd never expect to happen actually happen. Just like the last case in every Ace Attorney game, the last case is the best case, it's the most exciting case, and ultimatley seals the game. Some of the greatest Ace Attorney plot.
10/10
Music: The only thing that was a disapointment to me in the game was the music. Not that its bad- its still really good, just not as good as some in the past Ace Attorney games. The outside-the-court music is fine and its as good as always. All of the in-court music is great too, but its not quite as good. The "big" courtroom theme (near the end of a trial when you trap the killer) was still really good, but its not "epic" like the other ones. Overall, the music was still good.
9/10
Overall, this addition to the Ace Attorney series was still a great one. This game will keep me going back again and again. Can't wait for the next.
