Miami Nights: Singles in the City
Review by bookwormDS1987
"The only game where you can kiss the same sex!"
Yes I said it in the title that in this game you can be bi-sexual! Take that Will Wright. Now for those of your who are afraid of such touchy subject matter or don't like the sims please for the love of god stay away. The game is rated T for a reason and the last thing I want is a underage kid picking up this game and their parents see them french kiss another guy in this game. Basically buying this game for a young kid is like taking a three year old into Spencer's Gifts. However if you are a fan of games like Sprung and enjoy a little time waster like this one then pick this one up.
This game is a mishmash of genre's from the dating sim to the care for a person sim. There are no engrossing characters like Brett or Becky, nor are there villain's like Connor and his assorted crew of snobs, yet this game has it's own charm. It is probably on my list of games I am going to keep until the DS goes out of fashion and I have thirty on a rotating schedule. It is one of those games that will leave you hooked even after you beat the main story line.
I recently beat the story part of this game and the whole plot line of the game is this: Take care of a person and become famous. That's it. Beyond that there is not much you can do afterwards. However I myself not being a part of the Master Chief Mafia(Thats the name I give hardcore gamers) I love games that I can become absorbed in and are not too complicated.
The graphics are sub par for a 3D rendered game, It has a good soundtrack, the title screen has a digitized version of Reel to Real's "I Like To Move it" that sounds cool and there is a mini game where you can be a DJ.
This is a must play for the non traditional gamer and Sims fan and as mentioned above is a good time waster. However if you don't like it trade it in. I'm sure you could get something out of it maybe the new God of War or Super Smash Bros Brawl for a cheaper price. That's what I'd do if I had that chance and was a hardcore gamer. However I'd go for Professor Layton or Zelda for the DS( I really want those!).
Bottom Line, If you like games that play fast and loose with a conventional storyline buy it. If not the god of war is waiting on the PSP.
