"Lost in Blue, or Lost in Fun?"

Introduction -

Lost in Blue 3 is the third game in its survival-type series (not counting Survival Kids). Many loved the previous two games, and they loved this one too.

Gameplay -

Lost in Blue 3, overall, is a very fun game to play. There are mini-games of a wide variety, including multiplayer ones if you so desire it. Not only that, but there are different modes you can play, although some of them are only unlockable after beating the game once. Do you want to challenge yourself to see how long you can live, or try to escape the island? It's up to you. (Fun factor score - 10/10)

Ah, the difficulty factor of the game - some will find it easy, others hard. I found it around medium-ish, because I did have to enlist the help of people who already beat the game. Many have trouble on a certain few parts in the game, but other than that, it should be a breeze. (Difficulty score - easy)

The controls of Lost in Blue 3 are okay. However, unlike its predecessors, the use of the touch screen is shaky. If you try to move using the stylus, chances are you'll see the screen sort of jerk around. But walking with the stylus isn't necessary, so overall, the controls are good. (Control score - 9.5/10)

Gameplay score - 9.75/10

Story -

You control a teenager who washes up on a deserted island after the ship sank. You soon meet another who was on the same ship. Pretty simple, right?

Wrong.

As time goes on, you find more people and more information - one of the starting characters, who lost his memory, starts to regain it. Although not necessarily tear-jerking, this plot is definitely engrossing, and you'll feel genuinely interested in it. My only problems with the story is that it seems awkwardly executed in some parts, and some of the characters don't have important roles at all - they're just there, for filler, for free item-space, I don't know. The one thing this game could also have done was to tie up some loose ends, because there are still questions you may have even after you beat the game.

Story score - 8/10

Graphics/Sound -

To longtime fans of the series, the 2-D art for this game may seem like a letdown. Instead of the realistic style the other games in the series have been drawn with, Lost in Blue 3 has a sort of "chibi-style". They look alright for the most part, but the expressions sometimes look a bit awkward. As for the 3-D aspect of the game, everything is very smooth. I can find no problems with that. (Graphics score - 9.5/10)

The sound is good. Sure, there's that weird tune that plays at 6 o'clock P.M. that might surprise you a little, but the music is fine. There are different character themes when you talk to a certain character as well, so that's kind of a cool addition. The only problem is the voice-acting - it sounds incredibly strange. I don't know if they had non-English speakers record this or what, because some of the intonation is just plain weird. The voice-acting would be a huge negative number on the sound score, but it's very scarce to hear their voices, so it's not too much of a subtraction. (Sound score - 8.5/10)

Graphics/Sound score - 9/10

Replayability -

The replayability factor of this game is great. After you beat the game with the beginning mode, you unlock two more characters' modes and another "serious survival" mode. So that, plus the beginning two characters, makes five modes in all! That's a lot of gaming time. Not only that, but there are multiplayer mini-games you can play with your friends. Overall, the replayability can be worth hours and hours of fun.

Replayability score - 10/10

Conclusion -

Yes, yes, yes! You should definitely buy this game. It'll be worth your time, I guarantee. If you are kind of on the fence about it, or if you're not sure you'll like it, rent it and then buy it when you like it.
