"A great idea but............."

Graphics: 4/10

First off the graphics. At first they seem decent, pretty good actually, but once you really start playing the game, you'll notice many flaws. Some of the smaller things just didn't look as detailed as they should have been, but that wasn't what made me give it a 4 out of 10. The one thing that was really terrible was the magnifying glass. It didn't even help at all! The only thing it could do was make things look pixilated.

Sound: 4/10

Another 4 out of 10. Nothing was really special about the music. Overall, it was just pretty average, but listening to it so much started to annoy me, and I just played with the sound off for a while, actually. Personally, I never really care THAT much about the sound in games though, but this game's music and sounds can't even be compared to the music from The World Ends With You.

Game play: 3/10

The game's biggest downfall. I had never played another Myst game before this or any other game like it. At first I really wasn't fond to the way it played, but as I played on I got used to it. It seemed to me like a great idea for a game, but unfortunately it was crippled by many glitches, other things like the uselessness of the magnifying glass as I said before. Basically, you go around an island where you have to decipher clues and puzzles, but I won't say anything else to prevent spoilers. Everyone on the message board here on gamefaqs kept complaining about how terrible this version of Myst was compared to other games like it, and Myst for the PC. Since I thought it sounded like a cool idea for a game, I decided to go ahead and try out the PC version. I loved it and for anybody reading this review to decide whether or not they should buy this game, you SHOULD NOT GET IT unless you are some sort of hardcore Myst fan, otherwise go get the PC version. Also, if you did get this game, whether you enjoyed it or not, you might want to consider getting another port of the game because as far as I know, this is the worst one.

Overall: 3/10

A great idea for a game, but it was held back by many glitches, mediocre graphics, and sub-par music. Unless you have money to burn, or are a crazy fan of the series, I wouldn't reccommend getting this game if you can get a different version.
