Mage Knight: Destiny's Soldier

Review by MoeBear

"A Great Conversion from Original Game"

INTRO
The only reason I gave this game such a high mark, is because from real time play to video game play they made a great conversion. I was introduced to this game threw my brother and his friends. Played it a couple of times and loved it. Then they stop making it, and they stop playing it, and so did I. So when I saw this for the DS, I was excited, and hoping it was just as good as I played it in reality. To my surprise it was, and I loved it. This game is addictive to me, it's like I can't put it down. Even if I try and play something else for a while, I always find myself going back to it. I must confess they got me hooked on this game.

GAME PLAY
This is the same style you play or played as in real life. For those that never played or heard about this game, I will briefly explain it to you. This game is about different warriors or characters, and each has different abilities and powers. The all a number on them so you can build your army to the size required, for example size 400, and your warrior is 45, you can add another 365 value to your army. Damage and attacking is decided by rolling the dice and clicking your piece. You don't have to do any math from strength and defense cause the game does it for you. It tells you, you need a 6 or other number to hit, and so on. So that is great. You have so many different warriors; with so many different abilities it's unbelievable. And the help menu is awesome, it explains every special move each one has if you forgot what it is and capable of doing. This is a fun and great game to play, with many battles and different armies to choose from.

APPEARANCE
This is very nice too! All the little mage knight clicks look very good. From their profile pictures and movement pictures in the multi screen are excellent. Even the story mode graphics are amazing. This is a well-done job by the developers of this game. The music and sound effects are pretty good too. Don't expect too much from games like this, cause most of the sound effects are going to be battle ones.

OVERALL
If you liked the original game in real life, then you will love this and is a must for you. If your somebody that never played this style of game, then you might want to take it slow and see if this is for you or not. Not every game is for everybody. The price for this game is not bad at all I got brand new for only 20 bucks. To me this was money well spent cause I am getting plenty of hours of game play from it.
