"The 'Star' that Kirby has not had since the 'Super' hit on the 'Ultra'-mate SNES"

Kirby Super Star Ultra has not changed since the SNES Kirby Super Star. Everything is just like it is for the SNES Kirby Super Star. Kirby Super Star Ultra is the game that anyone whose everyone should get and play because Kirby Super Star Ultra is both fun and complex at the same time. Kirby Super Star Ultra is actually one of the more better games for the Nintendo DS because of how the game was made. I want to say all the things that are great in this game in the intro but I have to save that for the review.

Controls - 10/10
The controls are almost the same exact controls from Kirby Super Star. They are also easy for those who have not played Kirby Super Star. Seriously. Find an SNES controller and compare the controls to the DS. I completed the game in 8 and a half hours straight because of the control setup. The controls are one piece of the memorable puzzle. Comparing the controls for Kirby Super Star Ultra to the original Kirby Super Star, the button configuration is a bit new but between both of them, the controls are easy to figure out, even for people who want to try out some games.

Sounds - 10/10
I never thought Nintendo could remake a game with the same points that was in the original. The sounds are just like Kirby Super Star. I want to keep writing and saying that but then it would be monotonous. Get the game to get a feel of Kirby Super Star if you have not played it for the SNES. The sounds are another piece of the memorable puzzle. With the Sound Test, you can actually bring your DS anywhere and as you are on the corkboard of the file, you can just tap, or press A on, the Sound Test and make noises when people are talking or add music when someone is going on and on. Something to make some situations either funny or just a bit more funnier.

Gameplay - 10/10
The gameplay is exactly how Kirby Super Star is. The gameplay is really what Kirby was based on. There are enemies and bosses that came from Kirby Super Star and are brand new to Kirby Super Star. Some of the new bosses are really easy while the others are a challenge to beat. The gameplay is the third piece of the memorable puzzle. The gameplay is on different levels of difficulty because when you progress, the games may look and seem easy, but, like the original Kirby Super Star, the games have a difficulty level on the top right hand corner of the description of the game going from a puny 1 all the way up to an amazing 7 stars.

Graphics - 10/10
The graphics are just like Kirby Super Star. The cutscenes are now CGI cutscenes but the graphics of the enemies, bosses, items, lands, and even Kirby have not changed. Kirby now has a much deeper color when he gains certain enemies abilities. Mainly the graphics are the same but besides that, the intro and cutscenes have been remade with CGI technology. The graphics may not always make the game but with old games such as Kirby Super Star and Chrono Trigger being remade with their former, glorious, and classic 16-bit graphics with CGI cutscenes for the DS is really where the games are. I would rather play SNES games with their original 16-bit graphics because remaking SNES games with new and improved graphics seems like the game might not be that good.

Difficulty *new* - 10/10
Kirby Super Star Ultra is really challenging for getting 100%. When I got to 'The True Arena,' I thought I was not going to beat it but I beat my own odds and beat the hardest part of Kirby Super Star Ultra. I was so relieved when I beat 'The True Arena.' You will feel that same relief when you complete 'The True Arena' and get 100% completion for Kirby Super Star Ultra. Do not judge that getting 100% on this game will be easy because it will not be. With the games, you need to focus on how to complete each one in as little time as possible because completing this game gets videos to watch, unlocking the Sound Test and maybe if you complete one game with everyone, you can even get a special video. This gained by completing this long, and difficult game which you feel good about and bragging to your friends that this game really is awesome but difficult and you completed this game 100%.

Replay Value - 10/10
Kirby Super Star Ultra is fun on many levels. I could not stop playing Kirby Super Star Ultra just to get to my favorite Kirby game, MilkyWay Wishes. But I wanted to get 100% completion so when I got 100% completion, I went back started a whole new game for MilkyWay Wishes. Besides MilkyWay Wishes, every game was perfectly remade or made. Kirby Super Star Ultra is just like the original Kirby Super Star in having multiple games in one. In the beginning, the game looks like the original in having 6 games but once you get further into Kirby Super Star Ultra, you will find out that there will be 5 more that you have to unlock and complete making 11 games-in-1.

Bottom Line:
Some remakes that Nintendo made do not have the same look as in the original. A great example is Final Fantasy IV. I am not saying is sucks, I am saying that with the screenshots I saw in the magazines, Final Fantasy IV does not look like the original. I saw screenshots of Kirby Super Star Ultra in the same magazine and Kirby Super Star Ultra looked exactly like Kirby Super Star. Everything makes a game. How many Final Fantasy remakes are there in total? I lost track since the perfectly remade Final Fantasy Anthology for the Playstation. How many Kirby Super Star remakes are there in total? One and it is Kirby Super Star Ultra without a doubt. Kirby Super Star Ultra is better than some other games because the main game runs on the classic 16-bit graphics now with updated CGI cutscenes. Games should be remade like Kirby Super Star Ultra and Final Fantasy Anthology. The main graphics stay the same but have a CGI intro that is appealing to the eye and have a nice feel of the game.

Buy or Rent:
Rent? Umm. How about not? There are parts of this game that will take time to complete to get every little thing in this game. So I recommend buying this game. Kirby Super Star Ultra needs to be bought because you can play with up to three friends without them having the game and up to one with the game.

Compared to other games and consoles:
Kirby Super Star Ultra seems to be like one of the only games someone my age (18+) who can really appreciate Nintendo and what they have done to their games. Comparing with the other games, I own a small amount of Wii (as well as Xbox 360) games on Disc which is in the single digits compared to PS3 games on Disc which is in the double digits.
