Disgaea DS
Review by Deathx113
"One of the most addicting games you'll ever play, Dood."
About the story, without giving away any spoilers, this game is about a demon prince, named Laharl. His dad The Overlord of the Netherworld, dies and the prince sets out to take on the challenges to become the next Overlord.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics in this game are some of the best graphics I have ever seen on a DS game. The different weapons you can equip will change the look of your character in battle, varying from swords to axes and spears, and also plain fists. All in all this games graphics are unbelievably great, though the sometimes it can be hard to see behind a tall wall.
Game play: 10/10
The game play is where this game truly shines; there are quite a few ways to play this game. There is the main story mode, which will last you about 20-40 hours or so. There is the item world where you level up items and fight the leaders of those items to make them quite a bit stronger. The fighting in this game is pretty different then most other SRPG's. If your not familiar with Disgaea the game doesn't go on who is faster but on one team vs. the other, you can move you team all around then attack or attack right away then move someone else, there is also a team attack where you combine up to 4 people to do maximum damage. There is a place called the Dark Assembly, here you pick something like Stronger Enemies, or more expensive items, then you can bribe and fight you way through Senators who will vote yay or nay (be warned if you kill a senator they will loathe you, making it a very small chance that they will vote yay for you). There are also many different classes/tiers in this game; you can also use monsters, though they can't use normal weapons, only claws. The last thing I'll talk about is reincarnation, which lets you to turn your character back into a level 1, but stores your levels to make that character stringer then before.
Re-playability 9/10
This game has so much to do, and so many after game events you'll be going many days without sleep replaying through the game and unlocking all the classes/tiers, and fighting the various secret bosses, and going through the item world to have the strongest weapon you can, in this game.
DS Extras: 9/10
The DS has a few things extra added to it, it has a few new unlock able characters. The DS also features Prinny commentary, after you finish the game once. The DS also has a life saving Mini-Map on the top screen, this helped me allot when planning out strategies for fighting.
Conclusion:
This is a must have for your DS. With all the extras you'll have 100's of hours chocked into this game. The only reason not to get this is if you already have it for your psp. I give this a 9.5/10
Which rounds to 10. Thanks for reading. =D
