Feel the Magic: XY/XX

Review by mcwizardx

"Rub it, Blow it, Shout it, new ways to play your game"

Feel the magic, for a launch title game for the Nintendo DS it delivers what is expected from the touch pad, pure fun. Forget pushing the other buttons, you make full use of the touch screen in nearly every mini game from controlling the hero to steering and shooting. Loads of mini games to play that is simple enough yet only the skilled can survive. Now for the break down.

Graphics 8
Solid graphics for its style but its not like you're seeing something way out there that'd amaze you. It is stylish though with perfect frames a second.

Sound 9
Music is good, sound effect is good. The music fits well with the game play, nearly humable and for the sound effects, funny. You'll hear some weird nutty sounds in this game which pretty much fits for the entire theme of the game.

Story: 7
Story is simple, you're trying to get a chick. What happens to you and the girl is a bit strange, from trying to flick scorpians off the girl, find your way out of a giant snake, or even drive down shooting people you run over at a runaway truck that kidnapped your girl (i'm serious that is a game). So not your typical rescue and woo the girl game but thats what it is.

Gameplay:10
Minigames minigames and more minigames. The game feels like Warioware in a way. The minigames are addicting, challenging, yet fun. Its simple enough for all gamers but only the skilled will advance forward. With various forms of unique mini games it will keep you busy with hours of fun and also frustration. Try guiding yourself through a tightwalk with a unicycle or even getting lightheaded from trying to blow a sailboat. Yup you'll play minigames here like no other you've ever played before.

Replay: 6

Not sure if you'll ever wanna play some of the other games after going through hell to beat it but some are worth playing again. There isn't a score card just a completion card so there is no way to see if you can out do yourself. You'll be passing this game around with your friends while borrowing their other games in exchange. If you like repeative minigames to just play when ya get bored then you'll be fine but if you are always looking for new things then you'll probably feel kinda disappointed when its all said and done.

Final comments
Its a good game for solid gameplay that have you decharging your DS and charging it up again to play some more. If you have a group of friends that have a DS only one or two of you should get this game strickly for trade purposes. Don't get me wrong, its hella fun but with lacking multiplayer power, it does get kinda old kinda fast. Solid 9/10 score, its all good.
