"Wario Ware fans can Feel The Magic!"
Though, Wario Ware DS is not yet here, hardcore fans of the series can really Feel the Magic while playing this title.
Story- 8/10
You play as a normal guy who spots the girl of his dreams on the street. Through some weird turn of events, a man near him swallows a goldfish and you have to rub it out of him. (OK ) After this super performance, you join the "Rub Rabbits" to woo your dream girl. As you can see, the story is a bit off, but many people can relate to it. Think about, have you ever done a bunch of crazy things to get a girl to notice you, I think so
Gameplay- 9/10
In Feel The Magic, you play a bunch of crazy mini-games using the stylus and occasionally your mouth (You blow into the microphone). Most of the minigames are very fun to play, and even if you don't win them, you'll still be happy to play them again. After winning a minigame, the girl's love for you goes up, or down if you lose. How much it goes up depends on the difficulty of the minigame. This really makes you want to keep playing, to see the boss, or play through the Love Scene. The only thing bad about the gameplay is the lack of it. A person could finish the game in an hour and a half if they were dedicated. Other than that minor flaw, the game is fabulous. This brings me to the games controls. Before every game you will see a small "lesson" scroll across the bottom of the screen. This tells you what to do during the game, and how you control it. Most of the games use the DS's stylus, though, the best minigames are the ones where you use the microphone. (Yacht, Microphone, Candle). Most of the games have great, responsive controls, but there are a few that have horribly buggy controls. Specifically Monocycle and Chaser. In both games, you are required to guide a craft around a set course. The control is so touchy that if the stylus moves just a bit to the left or right of your track, you lose. This frustrated me so badly that after many tries, I put the game down for a few days. To sum it up, most of the game is extremely enjoyable.
Graphics- 9/10
Come on! The graphics on the DS are amazing and this game shows them off well! The game is done in a unique style, nothing on your character is show except their arms and legs (clothes too .), which makes the game seem cooler for some odd reason. Some of the mini-games don't look good compared to others, and I can't seem to comprehend why the developers would make stunning games like Yacht and then put in a 2D game like Antlion. I'm sure Sonic Team would say it's part of the feel of the game. I just don't buy that L
Sound-10/10
Not much to say, the music fits the mini-games and the bit of voice included sounds crystal clear.
"RUB IT!"
Replay Value-6/10
There really is so much to do after you beat the game. Hard mode is unlocked, and you can go back and find the hidden rabbits to dress your girl in stylish clothes. Though, I found that I really didn't want to play all of the mini-games over again.
Original Features:
You can use a Sega Gameboy Advance game to unlock clothes for your girl. This is also the first game (Duh) that uses a microphone as a controller.
Conclusion
A great game with no major flaws. If your lucky enough to have a DS right now, pick it up. Remember, "Rub is Love" (Weird message included in the game, had to throw it in there.)
P.S. Any parents that are reading this, please note, the cover to the game is extremely misleading! The game does have some mature elements, but at no point is there any nudity or sexual content. Peace out gamers!
