Review by KoolKirby

"Good, but definitely not great."

Spiderman 2 is a good game, and if you are desperate for DS games, you may consider picking this one up, but you might want to save your cash for something coming out later, or perhaps a Game Boy Advance game instead.

Graphics: 8/10
I may be completely wrong about graphics, because I don't know the standard for DS games yet, but compared to DS games so far, then these are above average. They aren't blocky, and the pastel look is kinda cool. The collision detection is not perfect though, Spiderman's hands sometimes go through the objects, which can be annoying looking. The Backgrounds are very detailed though, it looks like a real city.

Story: 6/10
For the most part, the Missions (called Chapters in the game) are just about making it to school on time while beating up Thugs, rescuing people from a fire, ect. Not to much of a plot. But some missions are parts of the movie, but if you've never seen the movie, you really would not understand it at all. Not much to be said.

Gameplay: 6/10
This game is a Sidescroller, where you can use Spidermans techniques to swing across levels, trap enemies in his web, ect. The combat is dull, though if you use Spider Mans Spidey Senses, you can slow down time and play it Matrix Style. But it's still quite boring. The missions all differ a bit, but it still gets repetitive fast. This game just gets boring quickly, that's the main problem.

Sound/Audio: 5/10
The sounds in this game are quite fuzzy, and the music is not very good. And there aren't any voice overs which would have worked wonders for this game. A bit of a letdown. While also fuzzy, the sound effects are so bland and generic it's not even funny, and they don't even match the situation at times.

Overall: 6/10
There are much better games out there, and although there are very few DS games at the moment, most of them are better then this one. But this game is far from horrible, and you may want to look into it.

Buy or Rent: Rent
Even though I said rent, it may be impossible to rent this game, all rental stores around me do not have DS games for rent, and if that's the case for you as well, you can buy it, or wait for a price drop. Or just avoid the game altogether, it's your choice.
