"Pokemon Racing, quite a surprise."

Graphics-6/10
The graphics are mostly 2-D, unless you count the 3-D interactive Pikachu at the title screen. Nothing very special about the graphics, they are not too bad but not too good.

Sound-7/10
The sound/backround music was good, again nothing special. There is not such a big expansion of backround music that is used.

Gameplay-9/10

I rather enjoyed the gameplay of this game. You rub the touch screen in the direction you wish to go. The top screen shows the race's current positions and goals left while the bottom screen is the screen where you direct your Pokemon to the goals. You must not waste a second while racing, for your rivaling Pokemon racers will quickly get ahead of you. Depending on how well you did, you will earn trophies for that cup. You also have the option of racing against the clock in Time Attack mode. There is also a mode called Expert where you can pass through the goals in any order you want.

Bonus Options-8/10

Like I said, Time Attack is where you must get to each goal, trying to beat the clock. This mode is very difficult to complete. Special Cup is where you can combine your Pokemon GBA games(Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Emerald) to race on the Pokemon you have in your party as tracks. There are a total of two goals in each Pokemon Special Cup track. The time you have in each Special Cup is determined by how high your Pokemon levels are, one second for each level, then multiplied by the number of common types there are withing your party. There is also a Multiplayer mode where you can use the DS's wireless abilities so you can race from two to six of your friends at the same time in any cup the leader chooses.

Overall, this game was a surprise to me. The general idea of a Pokemon racing game didn't interest me, but it turned out this game is very good. The controls are fairly easy to master once you get the hang of it. This was a good way to spend my money. It is very hard for me to even stop playing it's so fun!
