"These are not the droids you are looking for"

With Revenge of the Sith only a few days away, LucasArts and Ubisoft release this little beauty to get you all excited before the film is released. There's 3 types of modes for this game, first is Anakin's story, play through RotS as Anakin, Obi-Wan's story you guessed it, play through as Obi-Wan Kenobi. And finally the multiplayer/special missions which is Rogue Squadron(ish), you can distribute shields, but don't have wing men.

Gameplay - Basic 2D side scroller, you the one type where you can stand at the top and enemies will be down the bottom and they'll never hit you. Well its like that but these droids and clones are cleverer they come after you! And they'll die trying. Many times you'll find yourself surrounded, this is when the classy fury/force attacks come in handy. The touch screen can be used for activating these powerful attacks.7

Graphics - Though the character models are cartoony the graphics are really nice, the colours are vibrant. Don't be tricked by the screen shots, pictures I had seen in magazines, web sites and even the back of the box makes them look slightly rough. I love the backgrounds they are incredibly detailed, though slightly repetitive. Story clips show wonderfully detailed shots of different events, each depicting the story fabulously.

The space combat multiplayer missions and special missions have the best graphics on the game, possibly on the console. Many 3D maps and ships are available fot combat each looks great.

Sound - The music is outstanding, as the screen crawl started in typical star wars fashion I was amazed by the quality of the music. Its great. Sound affects of the blasters are top notch, lightsabers make their cool noises. Unfortunately the characters don't have voice overs, would've been nice to hear Obi-Wan say something every now and again. The droids do say "Roger-roger" and other non-sense.9

Controls - The controls are simple, A jumps, B attacks, R + direction activates special attacks, L blocks. X and Y are redundant in the regular 2D scrolling missions. The touch screen can be used for activating fury/force attacks. Nice and easy which suits the game. Flight controls are easy to L and R do barrel roles, A uses missiles, Y uses blasters, X accelerates, B brakes. The touch screen can be used for re-assigning shields, a nice touch in my opinion. 8

Multiplayer - The game is a multi cart multiplayer, but a nice feature I found was the 'Skirmish', here you can play mulitplayer against computer bots. Its all in star ships, its like having a small less complex version of Rogue Squadron in your hand, I can't wait to play against friends. There is various ships for selection, like Obi-Wans jedi starfighter, Slave 1, General Grevious's ship and the Millennium Falcon are just a few. 8

Length - Unfortunately the game is way too easy and incredibly short, 13 missions for each character.5

I'd give the game a 7, mathematically it works out to 7.5, but dropping it slightly because of the length, you'll love the game if you're star wars mad, and/or if you have friends who will buy it to play multiplayer with. Not for you if you want a lengthy challenge. All in all a good game, not a great though.
