Review by Hero of Time22

"Impressive.....Most Impressive...."

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith is the final installment in the Star Wars saga sadly. Star Wars has always been a great story with all the movies, and as a big fan myself, it is sad to see it go. But we can always be assured that we will always get really neat Star Wars games! This game is one of them in my opinion. Revenge of the Sith has currently been released on the Playstation 2, Xbox, Gameboy Advance, and the Nintendo DS. This review is for the Nintendo DS version of the games and I hope it helps you out well.

Graphics 8/10

The Nintendo DS generally has the same type of graphics and style of the Nintendo 64. That being said, the dog fights with the space ships that you play with in multi player are not so much different looking from the original Rogue Squadron game on the Nintendo 64, which was definitely an excellent game as well. But as for the single player missions, they are 2-D side view type games that don't look too much different from the Gameboy Advance version of this game. That certainly does not mean a bad thing at all what so ever. The graphic quality runs nice and smooth with no choppiness at all. But the really great thing in graphic wise is the multi player hands down.

Game Play 9/10

The game play in this game is so much fun its unbelievable. After recently just completing the Playstation 2 version, I really felt like I had nothing left to do in the game now that I beat it. This game really makes replay value a very fun thing. For the single player missions, the 2-D side scrolling game play is not much different from any 2-D side view type game except for the fact that you can actually walk up and down in the levels instead of just going straight the whole time. Ill have to admit, sometimes in this game it could get you just a little bit frustrated at some points where your just surrounded by enemies. You fight as Anakin Skywalker, a young Jedi knight full of grief and anger who eventually becomes Darth Vader, and his master, Obi-wan Kenobi, who is an accomplished Jedi master and strong in the light side of the force. In this game you follow the paths of these two in the movie. As you progress through each characters story, you make your characters stronger by adding strength, health and force power. You also upgrade stats and abilities of your certain force powers. This is a very unique and fun game style that sort of relates to the console version's game style. But thats not all, the multi player, in my opinion is for the most part, or for the whole reason why you should check out this game. As I mentioned before, the multi player graphics in this game are of Nintendo 64 type graphics, which of course are in great 3-D. You can play against other people that have the game , but most of all, you can play with bots! Yes! It is great, you can actually dog fight with multi player bots. There is a good number of ships too such as; the Jedi star fighter, Jedi star fighter II, droid star fighter, X-wing(my personal favorite), Millennium Falcon, Slave I, etc. Also, you can play against A.I. of famous Star Wars characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, etc. All I can say is that it is really fun, and that its a blessing that finally a good game gets multi player bots. Also, don't underestimate these bots, some of them can be very very hard to defeat. Unfortunately, there is only like about 8 maps total. This isn't bad, but I think it could be better. All in all, this game's game play is so much better in my opinion (and yes i have beaten the console version) than any other version currently out.

Sound 10/10

When ever I review a Star Wars game I always give sound a perfect score for obvious reasons. All the Star Wars songs ever made are all orchestrated by John Williams, who in my opinion is amazing. This game is full of the famous Star Wars tunes that he has made. And with the DS's surround sound style of speakers, it is perfect. Great job.

Controls 8/10

The game actually works very well with the Nintendo DS. The single player side view type games are perfect for they are just like playing on a Gameboy Advance. You combine D-pad actions with the R button to do certain force moves. The flying stages, and the multi player games could use an analog stick, but still the D-pad works fairly well. You also use the touch screen to actually check score, radar, and you can set the balance of your ship's shields! How cool is that!

Replay Value 9/10

If you love flying space ships, and just generally dog fighting against computer controlled bots, or with other people, this game is for you! The single player mode also deserves a good replay, since there is two separate paths between the two characters. Also, there is more difficulty settings, and there is the chance of trying to get full %100 on all the levels. Yeah, I think you'll be busy for a while

Overall 8/10

This game is simply great. Im so glad that I had purchased it, the multi player dog fights with bots really just do it for me. I seriously think that I would have bought this game for just this purpose. There are so many ships and A.I. settings that I can't think of any other current DS game that has flight simulating like this. So basically, if you have a DS, your a Star Wars fan, get this game. I seriously don't think you'll regret it

This concludes my review on Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith for the Nintendo DS. I really hoped my review helped you decide on if you would like to purchase this game or not. I would say purchase it. I loved it, and I also own the Playstation 2 version and I enjoy this version so much more.
