WarioWare: Touched!
Review by CrazyGamer343
"Touching Wario has never been this much fun"
Gameplay: 9/10
WarioWare Touched! is played entirely with the Stylus, you will not use a single button unless the insane random mini games get to you and have to pause(using up on the d-pad or the start button). When you first turn on your Nintendo DS with WarioWare Touched in it you will be greeted with an animation of Wario walking down the street with a Gameboy Advanced and a GBA SP, he trips and drops them into a well, a genie of sorts then holds out the systems Wario had and a touch screen one, Wario tackles him trying to take all but gets the touch screen on and this is why every thing in this game has you touching stuff (and people cracking jokes at the name). At first you only start out with Wario's mini games which all consist of tapping objects on the screen, this is the reason game play is a 9 and not a 10, in earlier Wario Ware games you would have many different games for each character that would make it even more hectic. But as you get father in the game you unlock "mixes" or new characters that throw in all of the games to confuse you a bit.
Gameplay does not really focus on what the mini game is but more on how you beat it, take two Wario mini games for example, one has you popping balloons by tapping them with your stylus and another tells you to tap a mechanical pencil to empty it of lead. Both have the same object of tapping stuff but somewhat different looks, this is to confuse you and make you lose the mini game there by taking one of your lives away (which you only have 4 of). It is confusing because you are usually given a one word instruction and you are supposed to figure out what to do next yourself, and when you get up to higher speeds this can get very hard.
After you beat the characters scenario you unlock a souvenir or toy. Some of these are plain stupid and somewhat useless, but others are actually mini games with high scores to beat, which will give you another souvenir. Where as other like the "wind chimes" just take up space, unless you like hearing metal hitting together for hours at a time. It does not seem like these toys add much but you will find yourself coming back to play them over and over again.
Though some people will say "Ya but playing five second mini games will get old really fast." Which for a few people may be the case, but most gamers they are addicted to playing the same games over until they beat the games set score or one of there previous scores. There is no real "beating the game" in WWT because you will always be trying to beat scored or just play for fun even after you have done everything.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics in WarioWare Touched are not really what the DS has to offer, but they fit the game and that is what matters in most if not all video games. Graphics in the game are cartoon like but what would a Wario Ware game be with full 3D graphics? Though there are a few mini games that do use them, 3D graphics are a rare site in this game. But if you did buy it for graphics you must be blind or drunk. But like I said before as long as graphics fit the game you are good to go.
There are really no room for graphical errors since most of the games (if not all) are 2D.
Sound: 7.5/10
The music is different for most mini games but is usually just a song playing in the background or the sound effects of what you are doing on the screen. Sometimes if you are in the main hub for a long time the song playing can really get annoying but for the most part it is fine.
There are no voiceovers in the game besides the character you are playing saying something either bad or good about you if you win or lose the mini game you are playing. The one exception is the character Ashley has her own theme song that plays when you choose her, it is just a short song but at least they did not try to make it with the voice that is used on Microsoft computers.
Overall there is nothing to complain about, but also nothing to really to note.
Replayability: 10/10
This is where its at, the one thing that shines above all in this game is the replayability. Though it does not take long to "beat" all of the character scenarios, you can quickly get the last microgame stage in less than 4 hours. But, the amount of fun you have by playing these mini games over and over again is what makes this game shine. WarioWare Touched! Will not get dull because it's just so fun to play the games over and over again. Even the souvenirs will keep you entertained.
Buy, Rent, or Forget?
Buy Buy Buy! 35 dollars is cheap for the amount of time you will spend playing this game, if you are going on a long road trip or maybe just want something to do in between daily activities then you will love this game.
