Polarium

"A Great Game"

Polarium is a great game but can get a bit repetitive. The game is based on trying to make horizontal lines of one colour (Sort of like Tetris). Using the stylus to turn over tiles.

GAMEPLAY 9/10

Polarium is based on two modes Challenge and Puzzle mode. In challenge mode blocks of tiles fall down from the top screen then using the stylus you have to make horizontal lines of one colour, if done correctly the black or white lines will disappear making room for more tiles. If the amount of tiles builds all the way up to a red bar the game will finish.(Much like Tetris) There is also a practice mode where you can practice a certain hundred lines. The main challenge can be tricky to start with but once you clear 100 lines you will be able too get there again and again.

The second mode is Puzzle mode in which you are given single puzzles that you have to do in one stroke of the stylus. There are 100 stock puzzles (everytime you complete 10 you get 10 more) and 100 slots for your own 'custom' puzzles. Each puzzle you make is given a unique password which means that if someone else who had the game put in your password they would have the puzzle you made come up on their DS. All the polarium games have the same password setting so if you are in America, Canada or even the UK you can still trade puzzles.

Sound 7/10

The sound is pretty bad. It has the same tune going constantly. That's all i'm gonna say.

Replay Value 20/10!!

The replayability is brilliant! you can keep getting other peoples puzzles off of the internet and keep posting your own ones up! (I believe there is a special board on gamefaqs that is designed for this!!)

Extras 9/10

This game also has a downloadable version that you can send directly to you friends! It also has multiplayer options!

Rent or Buy?

Buy. Definately buy. Especially if you loved Tetris. This will keep you going for hours!!
