"The Classic Lives on."

Yes sir, bomberman has lived up to its old name, and now, Hudson is making bomberman infinitely better. Using all of the DS's new features, Bomberman has been revolutionized.

Story : 5/10

The story of Bomberman is not the greatest. Basically like all games, evil has spread throughout the lands, and it is up to a certain hero to put an end to it. Still, Bomberman doesn't really need a story, it is enough fun as it is.

Control : 9/10

This game is very easy to control. Using just the arrows to move around, the 'A' button lays bombs, the 'B' button detonates remote bombs, and the 'Y' button uses whatever power up you have at the moment. With this easy layout, the touch screen also helps with game set-up and enhanced game play.

Music/sound : 9/10

An excellent bomberman theme tune playing in the back round along with the realistic sound effects from bombs, enemies, and obstacles. Very good music/sound overall.

Game play : 10/10

Using the old layout of bomberman, the legend lives on, and the 100 levels of single player is definitely enough to entertain you for hours on end. Never gets old.

Multi player : 10/10

With the DS's wireless ability to download play, a group of friends can get together to have a great time partying with the classic multi-player of bomberman found on the sega dreamcast. Overall, hours can be spent without the fun wearing out with approximately 30 different game variants.

DS's use of features : 9/10

To adapt this game to the DS, Hudson and Nintendo worked together to combine their resources and make fun ways of using the DS's abilities. Here's a list:

-Touch-Flicking bombs back into arena once you are out.
-Voice-activated shields, voice-detonated bombs.
-Dual arenas with pipes connecting the two screens.
-Touch screen for setting up games easily

Replay value : 10/10

You can just keep playing. It never gets old, and as long as your friend has a DS, multi-player is always something fun to do.

Rent or Buy : BUY

Definitely worth the purchase. If you have like previous bomberman games, there is no doubt you will enjoy this title.
