Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Review by MetalSonic700
"If your a star wars fan, buy this game"
Star Wars Episode 3 for the Nintendo DS is, in a breath, an average game.
Story: Star Wars Episode 3 has the exact same story as its movie counterpart. If you've seen the movie, you aren't missing out on anything. If you haven't seen the movie, you won't be spoiled much. The story doesn't really go into detail. All of the text in the game could be read though in around 4 minutes tops. I liked the movie, so I give the story an 8/10.
Graphics: I'm not sure what to say about these. The characters are cool looking, and the avatars aren't bad, not to mention there are some really detailed backgrounds. The problem is, I think that the DS can do a whole lot better, as Mario 64 DS is far superior. 7/10
Sound: There are some classic tunes and some remixes, which are pretty nice, but nothing special. Sometimes your enemies call out roger and that creeps me out 7/10
Length: Star Wars Episode 3 is short. You see, you get to play as Anakin or Obi Wan, and go through the difficulty levels padawan, Jedi, and master Jedi. Padawan takes around 1 hour per character, Jedi takes 1 and ½, and Master takes 2 hours. That adds up to 9 hours if you actually play through all the difficulty levels. Of course, by the time you've played practically the same game 6 times, you likely will never want to touch it again. 6/10
Game play: Star Wars Episode 3 is a very simplistic game. If you have ever played games like Final Fight or Bayou Billy, you know the drill. It's basically a side scroller, except you can move up and down. You jump with the A button and attack with the B button. You can block/deflect with the L button as well. The coolest thing is that by holding the R button and imputing a combination of directions, you can use the powers of the force. Another thing is your kill meter, which when you fill it up you can use super moves to wipe out rooms of enemies. There are a lot of different enemies, with a wide array of different attacks, making each battle interesting. My only complaint is that you often find yourself using the same attacks over and over, unless you purposefully get creative. After each chapter is a level up screen, where you can choose new or stronger force attacks, and upgrade your health and strength. There is also a special surprise in Star Wars. 2 missions in each story are space battles. You get to fly around shooting down enemy ships with lasers and bombs. The controls in these segments are superb and are the true highlight of the game. Finally, there is multiplayer, which is really nothing special. 8/10
In the end, all I can say is, if you like Star Wars, it's worth it to own this game. If not, borrow it from your friend. You'll be done with it by the end of the day.
