Pac-Pix
Review by Shadow_King
"A good game but not without its flaws..."
Story 10/10
One day a wizard came up with a mysterious invention called Ghost ink because to be honest what ells is there for a wizard to do now-a-days. Everything drawn with the Ghost ink turned into Ghosts which got out of hand and started to cause chaos inn all the paintings and books. Of cause Pac-man isn't going to hang around whilst the worlds is in minor danger (their in books what harm can they do?) so he gets his magic pen and starts trapping them all in a single book. But before he could turn the Ghosts back into Ghost ink, the Ghosts used their magic and turned him into a piece of paper.
This game really doesn't need a story but it went off and got one anyway. To be honest I'm surprised that the game designers manage to come up with a story that made sense but then again they did have to revert to magic.
Sound 8/10
It's like a catchy children's program theme tune which suites the childish theme brought about having to draw things in what seems to be crayon but after a while of playing people near you will tell you to turn it off and there's no real sense of completion when your scores are being totalled.
Graphics 10/10
Everything is clear and simple and the scoreboard time-board ect are all drawn in crayon. Nothing left to say really.
Game play 7/10
The idea for this game is both fun and simple, draw a Pac-man and move him around the page eating all the ghosts whilst drawing walls to change his direction and avoid him going off the page. This is a simple and refreshing idea that uses the touch screen nicely and stops it looking like an add-on for the DS. For the first few chapters it feels perfect and you soon get used to the controls. The only problem is that in later chapters the time limit is strict and during the heat off the movement your Pac-men start to look like monsters. Also your arrows and bombs vanish for no fault of your own. This can get annoying since there are no continues. Other than that it's great.
Total score 7/10
Final comment
Fun at first and you might want to play the early levels again to get the S rank (that's right S not A) and you can get cards showing the characters/objects in the game if you do well. But whatever you do don't pay full price is suggest that you wait till the price drops first.
