"Goku, Naruto, and Luffy all in one!"
Let me start of by saying this is a great game in fact its one of the best DS games as of now. In this game you pick a character from a various Jump Mangas and battle it out smash bros. style.
Graphics-9/10
I give this an 9/10 because some battle sprites look great and some are just........ well not to great. The good sprites are well detailed in motion and the special moves look great also. But there are the bad sprites like Sauske from Naruto which looks horrible just standing but looks pretty good while pulling off punches and kicks. Then there are the level designs and backgrounds. As fro the backgrounds they are very detailed and everything but the platforms are pretty boring and to plain but thats just me.
Gameplay-10/10
The gameplay in Jump Superstars is so much fun you will play this game for hours and hours on end. When you start the game up there are different modes to choose from there is an adventure mode which you go through a world map doing missions and battling opponents. This adventure mode is how you unlock character Koma's.(I will get to this later). Then the second mode is Wireless play. In wireless play you can choose Multi card play, Single card play, or download your friends koma decks. In Multi card play you can choose from your own decks and battle your friends with their chosen deck. In single card play it chooses a random deck out of 4 possible decks and the playable characters in single card play are Goku from Dragon Ball Z. Naruto from you guessed it Naruto. Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece. And Bo-bobobo from Bobobobo. Then there is a free battle mode where you can play with up to 4 computers and you can put the settings anyway you want. You can change the time limit put on teams and choose the computers decks. Now I get to the Koma deck part. As you play through the adventure mode you unlock koma and you must put them together. usually you put a picture of someone from a manga into a caption or saying of that character from the manga they are from making a koma which is either a support or battle koma. Battle komas are 4-7 blocks and support are 2-3 blocks. There are help komas but you don't need to put them together.
Story
As for the story I cant really rate this because I can not read Japanese whatsoever and therefor I have no clue what is going on but you don't need to know whats happening in the story to enjoy this game.
Sound-10/10
The sound is pretty good in this game they didn't take anime from the shows if you where thinking that and the reason for this is most likely because the game is based of the manga's and not the anime.
Replayability-10/10
The replayabilty is great once you beat the game you can go back and unlock koma and there are 657 koma total in this game! And if you like to unlock stuff this is a great game for you.
Final score 10/10
buy or rent? You should definitely buy this game if you are a fan of Jump manga or if you just like some of the characters in this game from anime.
