Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends

Review by blackravenrakka

"There's something irresistible about this game and I think I know why..."

On the first glance, Nintendogs is one of those type of games that might not seems very appealing but at the end, you can't imagine putting the game down. There is something about the game which makes Nintendogs so appealing.

Game play
The game takes place in a virtual world where you purchase a puppy and raise it. You can teach your puppy a variety of different tricks. You can communicated with your puppy through the use of the microphone. Also, you are able to use the stylus on the touch screen in order to pet the puppy. Also in the game, you would feed the puppy with dog food and water just like how a real puppy would need it. There are competitions in which you can enter in which you would earn money to buy more objects for your puppy and also you can also raise more than once puppies.

However, the puppy doesn't grows up or die.

One complaint I would make is that sometimes when you're giving commands to your puppy through the use of the microphone, you wonder if it's the game or the microphone because it doesn't reacts to your commands most of the time.

For people who are like me who has a accent , it's tough to speak clearly and thoroughly using the microphone.

Graphics
The graphics for this game is very impressive for the DS game. The dogs looks very impressive and realistic even. The movements are very fluid in the game. Since the game is around based around the clock, your can see the changes in the environment from morning to night and night to morning.

The A.I. is also very impressive in this game by the way the puppy reacts to your movements and sounds. If I didn't know any better, sometimes the puppies act a bit too realistic at times.

Sounds
The music is very fun and laid-back . The sounds effects such as the barking and the noises the puppies make sounds very realistic.

Overall
This is one of the game that is worthwhile to buy for your Nintendo DS.

Not only that, this is a GREAT game for people who can't and never will own a dog.
