Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour
Review by z95
"The best Yu-Gi-Oh! game thus far"
This game, in my opinion, is the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game out right now. It greatly uses the touch screen to it's advantage and makes the duels somewhat easier and quicker than moving the cursor around as in the previous Yu-Gi-Oh! games. The storyline is somewhat similar to the Battle City anime with some very familiar faces, but like other Yu-Gi-Oh! games, this game doesn't have much of a storyline.
Gameplay:
This is probably the best part in the game because it makes the duels somewhat quicker by using the touch screen rather than wasting precious time moving the cursor around until you get to card/option you want which can get tedious at times. The game also uses expert rules which make the game a little more challenging. This can help you to devise different strategies to pull a win or can help you prepare for tournaments to find your deck's weak points since this game contains 1000+ cards including all three Egyptian God cards which are totally usable with *awesome* effects. This includes nearly all the cards from the current TCG sets, but they had to cut some inportant cards such as Horus and Armed Dragon.
Sound:
Ok, there's like 3 dueling songs which get annoying after 2 minutes. This is one of the areas that Yu-Gi-Oh! games need some help on. Utter crap/10
Graphics:
Not too bad but they could use some work. The graphics kinda look like they were rushed and doesn't really bring out the full potential of the DS. Even though the monsters get summoned in 3D, they look somewhat pixelated and can use some work. The attacks are also just slashes as in some previous Yu-Gi-Oh! games. Some famous cards, such as Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon, also get special summoning cutscenes ^_^ Overall, the graphics are pretty good for the DS.
So overall, this is a great game for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans and should not be ignored. If you like Yu-Gi-Oh! and innovative gameplay, BUY THIS NOW!!!! You won't be disappointed =)
