The Urbz: Sims in the City
Review by gunsniperz
"The first good sim game off the PC!"
I got The Sims Urbz for christmas. Better than I expected. Every other sim game that wasn't on the PC weren't good because of terrible control. This game was actually much better than any other The Sims for a console or handheld.
Story 10/10
Finally! A sims game with a real story! Daddy Bigbucks plans to take over miniopolis, and turn it into what he calls a "theme park" where everything will cost money and he will become even richer than he already is. The original owner of King Tower had disappeared and nobody has a clue where he is.
Gameplay 8/10
To get through the game, you have to complete goals, usually being becoming friends with somebody and getting them to do something for you, or raising a stat. Some of them are fun, but others are repetitive, boring, and in some, you have to wait until the next sim day to try again. You get to spend more time outside of your house, and it's not hard to leave like other sim games. (Others have long loads and phone calls to make)
Graphics 8/10
The graphics were ok, but there's no way that they tried to get the graphics to the best they could be. The people looked really choppy until you talked to them, and then you see a close up, which still isn't really the DS's full power.
Sound 8/10
The music is pretty good, but there isn't enough variety. Lots of places share music and the radio has only 3 songs. Eventually you just get sick of the songs. Also, the when the sims are speaking is a little annoying, especially because they only can say a couple of things, and you hear the same thing over and over again.
Control 9/10
The control is not like any other The Sims Game. You only have one character, but you control that one character. You actually control them, instead of clicking somewhere and have them walking there. The only bad part about the control was that it didn't use the touch screen that much. You only use it to navigate through the bottom screen menus, and to select something to talk about.
Rent or Buy:
Definitely buy. A short rental of the game isn't really enough.
