Asphalt: Urban GT

"A worthwhile racing title to pick up."

This game is pretty good if your looking for a good racing title. It has lots of cars to purchase, the ability to upgrade your car, and lots of tracks to race on.

Gameplay (9/10)
There are 6 different modes to play on. Evolution, Instant Play, Road Challenge, Free Race, Time Attack and Cop Chase. Evolution is the main meat of the game. In this you can unlock cars, upgrade them, and win trophies. That will be what your mainly doing. Instant play is just what it says, instant play. You go right into the game and start racing. In Road Challenge you get to pick a car and you race X number of races with it to try to unlock a new car category. Free Race allows you to do what you want. You get to pick the car and track you race on. In Time Attack it's you VS the clock. You just try to get as best a time as possible. In Cop Chase your trying to eliminate 7 other cars with your radar gun. Pretty fun.

Story (8/10)
There really isn't much of a story. But evolution is as close as it gets. You can really do a lot of things like get a paint job, or upgrade your tires, or engine and stuff like that.

Controls (9/10)
The controls are just like any other racer. B for accelerate, A for turbo, X to use the breaks, Y for your horn, and D pad to move. You can really take control of your car once you upgrade it a little. Really smooth turning with some of the better cars in the game. No stylus controlling. It'd be really awkward anyways.

Graphics (9/10)
The graphics were pretty well done in this game. The cars look pretty realistic. You can see smoke and sparks from your tires which is neat. They also did a good job on the tracks. The frame rate stays steady throughout the tracks. Overall good job on the graphics.

Sound (6/10)
The sound in this game is rather bland. All the cars make the same noise. The menu sound isn't to great either. There is also this lady who says go at the beginning of the game. She gets rather annoying.

Replay Value (8/10)
I'd say you'll probably playing this game for quite a while if you decide to pick it up. The evolution mode will last you quite a while. It is a hard task to beat all championships and earn all trophies.

Overall this is an enjoyable game worth a look at.
