Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

Review by poikes

"A game that is worth its now $20 price tag."

Ok heres the deal. This game is decent! I asked for it just to see how bad it was however, I have been having a good time. Marvel Nemesis, is defiantly not deep! However, thanks to a price drop the game is now a budget title, which makes it a fairer price since this game is defiantly far from perfection. Okay, my review is based off 3 things. They are Gameplay, Sound, and Graphics. You know, the basics.

The Gameplay is a good solid 7 out of a possible 10.

The gameplay is a tad bit repetitive. This is because you can win by using the same move Time and time again. So the game can be easy or annoying as hell. Also some levels have multiple parts, so you could get a slight advantage, then throw your opponent off the stage, and let time run out. So basically, you could win from doing almost nothing. It slows down the gameplay way too much. The gameplay basically reflects a budget title.
However like was said before, it's easy, so the frustration won't come that much from the difficulty.

The sound is a Semi mediocre 6 out of a possible 10.

Okay, the sound is the worst attribute of the game. Far from epic the sound often falters. All it is is standard video game music. Also there is no real voice acting. All the male characters sound like freaking cavemen because all they do is grunt and the woman always gasp, the sound stays the same. The crashing sounds (like hitting a wall) sound like a SNES game.
So the lowest point is the sound, but you get what you pay for right?

The graphics are the high point with 8 out of a possible 10.

Okay let me point out the two biggest flaws of the graphics! Sometimes me (or who ever may decide to play this game) uses an attack like a throw (example: Spidey or Venom) the opposing fighter gets trap in an invisible web and is flung across the room like a pixelated rag doll. Also sometimes random holes pop up! You can see right below you and walk on top of it. It becomes a nuisance. Other then that the graphics on this game look great for a DS title.

Is this game bad? No. This this game a game for everyone? Hell no. However it has a bad rep. Now lets tally the scores!

(7+6+8)/3= 7.

A respectable score for a respectable game. I hope EA releases a sequel that fixes the flaws of this one.

Hope this review was of help. Thank you.
