Super Princess Peach
Review by CyberNeoLink
"Step aside Mario and make way for the princess!"
Hi and welcome to my review for Super princess Peach. I just got 150 dollars from my grandma because of my birthday 2 weeks ago and I had to buy a game. I went to EB Games and saw this. I thought the premise of Mario getting kidnapped this time and the princess Peach going to the rescue sounded very cool so I got it. Lemme tell ya SPP is off the hook. Perfect to wait for New Super Mario Bros.
Game Play: 10/10
This is what makes SPP so awesome. Is kinda like other classic Mario plattformers but with a new twist. Besides playing as the princess, you get an array of abilities based on her always changing emotions. For example on the touch screen with the stylus tap sad and she'll do the cry ability allowing to douse fire and walk very fast. The angry emotion gives you fire allowing you to break wooden bridges and attack enemies. The joy emotion allows you to fly to the skies to reach high places. And last but not least the calm emotion makes you invinsible allowing you to not get hit. This kind of innovative game play will certainly keep you occupied.
Story: 10/10
The story on this game pwns! I was getting tired of Mario games where Bowser kidnaps Peach, Mario (or Luigi) go to the rescue, live happily until Peach gets kidnapped again. Yawn. That changes with this game where Mario & Luigi get kidnapped. Is up to Peach and her talking parasol to rescue the kidnapped plumber. I just got into the game and the story can only get better.
Music/Sound: 8/10
The sound is pretty much like Mario games with goombas, koopa troopas and whatnot but the music could have used some polishment. I would have liked if they did a remix of the classic Super Mario Bros. theme songs. The tunes among them in the game give you a nice feeling of whats going on in the game. It offers you a refreshing and relaxing time.
Graphics: 7/10
The DS is capable opf way more than this game offered. The characters and everything look really nice but they could have also used some polishment. What I really like about the backgrounds in the levels is that they are like classic Mario games and give me a sense of nostalgia every time I play the levels. But seriously who cares about graphics?
THE FINAL VERDICT
Game play: 10/10
Story: 10/10
Music/Sound: 8/10
Graphics: 7/10
FINAL: 10/10
Got an extra 30 bucks? go to your local game store and buy this while waiting for your pre ordered copy of New Super Mario Bros.
