Sprung

"It is a pity that the only dating simulation published around here turns out being like this..."
First, as soon as you start playing you will notice the game to be as simple as possible, with your character only having to pick from some lines that he/she will say to the other person involved, apart from occasionally being able to use some of the items you currently have. Being able to initially pick your character between a guy and a girl is unusual in this type of game, and apart from requiring the player to complete the game with both of them in order to unlock as much stuff as possible, the way to play with both of them is exactly the same.
The story lines for them both are related, with the player generally having to find a date. In this type of game such task turns out being usually fun, but in this game it just isn't. Your character will be taken along some tasks in a lot of chapters and missing such task will just take you to a "game over" screen. While this is understandable in a certain point of view, most of the tasks are virtually impossible to accomplish without recurring to any guides, which isn't obviously nice. Expect hundreds of "game overs" to be seen in your way to the ending, in case you have the bad choice of buying this game.
Those tasks may range from getting the phone number of a set of girls hanging on a bar, trying to set up a date or even memorizing a chain of up to 36 names in which a single wrong name will take you all the way back to square 1. This is probably the worst problem in this game, with a single and simple phrase out of its proper place leading to a-not-obvious "game over", instead of allowing you to continue playing without accomplishing such task or simply allowing you to try to turn the situation your way, like what happens in other games of this genre.
As for the items, you'll generally know when to use each of them, as the other characters usually give you not so subtle tips about it. You can also try to use them at your free will, sometimes leading to an interesting approach to the situation and the usual "game over" scene.
The game sure takes a lot to complete, mostly due to the hundreds of difficulties you will find across the it. They are so many that you may get bored of the game easily, after spending a lot more than a few hours trying to complete a particular chapter. Concerning the replay value, since there are a lot of items and static images to collect, you could expect it to be great. However, for the same reasons I've stated before in this paragraph, it isn't, as you will probably get fed up of the game way before completing it, making you not even care about completing the full collection.
The graphics, always on 2D, are quite detailed and they won't surely disappoint you. I think these are the best possible graphics in such system, with each character and its actions seeming to have been taken from a cartoon series.
As for the sound, each area you are in seems to feature its own theme, something that would generally be considered nice but around here it is surely isn't. Don't get me wrong, it is nice to have a game with so many different themes as this one, but since you will have to hear some of them for large amounts of time they start getting boring. They are mostly nice and you will enjoy them, but not after hearing them for so long!
As a final note, I must say that everyone will find this game to be terribly boring. It surely has some good features, but those are not enough to compensate the bad way this game was designed.
