Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends

Review by Kakumei_Feather

"In A World Where People Neatly Wrap Their Trash Before Throwing It On The Sidewalk..."

At First I Saw...I had always wanted Nintendogs. Seeing those adorable puppies just about brought me to pieces. It was wonderful!!! But then...I got the game.

Game Play? The first time I played Nintendogs, it was a great game. Raising dogs, bringing them to contests, getting new items. But yet, after a while, it was...a tad boring. The same thing every time: Get a new dog, play with it, get some cute accessories, go on a walk, enter a contest....every single time. It simply got...annnoying, almost.

What About Those Graphics? The graphics in this game are good. Well...the dog graphics, at least. The dogs all have cute little eyes, and great fur. But...the backround...look, furniture...then a big cloud of white. Mist, even in your comfy little Japanese home. What's up with that? I DON'T LIKE CLOUDS ON THE SIDEWALKS!!!

AudioThe music, uggh! It was enjoyable at first. Cute and cheery, just imagine the happy little elves skipping around the world. But then...it was mind numbing. Seriously. "La la la la la. I'm a happy little person. -giggle-". Jeez. It's not like you get any new music, either. Your either stuck with that happy joyful prep crap, or make some five second record with you sayin' something in your horrible voice.

Nintendo: Concept...What's That?Is there a story plot to this game? No!! All you do is raise dogs. No explosions. No bad guys. You don't have to do anything! Just play with your cute little dogs...forever and ever and ever.

I Think I Already Did That...In Nintendogs...you repeat things. A lot. Go walking up to the kennel, look at the dogs, bring one home. You name it, then teach ti tricks and enter it in contests. Get some more dogs, do the same. But...what? Same thing, ever stinkin' time. What's up with that?! When you go on a walk, it's also the same thing. Get some junk you can sell for a quick buck, meet some annoying people with some pain-in-the-neck dogs. The say the same things, no matter what. No small talk. And in contests, what's the point? The announcers have some lame chat, crack some not-funny jokes, and criticize you on your dogs feelings. How do they know? O.o

Graphics: 7
Game Play: 5
Sound: 3
Story: 1
Fun: 5
Overall: 5/10

Finally This game...gets really boring after a short while. If you have an attention span...and maybe your stuck somewhere, or just really bored, this game
may be for you...for a little bit. This game is a simple simulation, nothin' more, nothin' less. If you plan on getting this as an excuse for a dog, don't. Just go get a turtle.
