"A clever, but tricky game"

I am lucky I had actually managed to find a copy of this game seeing that is extremely rare in the UK, I am not so sure that its as bad in the US, but I was a lucky that I got one but it was pre-owned. 'Lost in Blue' by Konami is a game of survival, where you are stranded on an island and have to survive by collecting food and firewood etc. I personally love these kind of games as I am a fan of the Harvest Moon series, this game is similar to them but in more ways than one very different.

Story (6): You are Keith a student on a school boat trip, your boat is sunk by a big storm. And you wake up on an deserted island on your own. Later you come across Skye a girl with bad eyesight who was on the same trip as Keith, together they must survive on the island and find a way in which to escape. The story in my eyes isn't brilliant but with the scenario I guess that it cannot be made to much better.

Graphics (8): The graphics are good they are beautiful and colourful in their appearance. The talking scenes with Skye use cartoon like characters, like in Harvest Moon. But the in game graphics are 3D like in Mario 64 DS and the animation of the characters is nice and smooth and not clunky like in some other DS games that I have seen before.

Sound (5): The music actually got on my nerves I found it a bit to cheerful and pleasant for being trapped on a island. And is quite annoying when your struggling to find any decent food to stay alive and you got happy music playing in your ear. The game sounds are just the atmosphere your in like the waves on the beach.

Gameplay (9): Now for the best part of this review the gameplay is brilliant and clever. You have to collect food through fishing, hunting or digging. This game makes very good use of the touch screen and the microphone. My favourite mini game is where you have to make your fire burning, you press the R and L buttons simultaneously to rub a stick on bark and when an ember appears blow into the microphone to get your fire going. The gameplay has so many features it is hard to explain them all so trust me its good.

Conclusion: I like this game it is very clever and can tend to prove very hard in parts. So, if you like Harvest Moon and are able to track down this game I highly recommend that you get this game.
