General Locke's Guide to Mega Man 3 Forward: Welcome to my latest guide to one of the games in Capcom's greatest achievement of all time! Yes, this series is better then Street Fighter II. So sit back, relax and enjoy my walkthrough! *** Contents: Boss strategies Items Friends Final Notes *** Boss strategies: Shadow Man: Shadow Man is easy, but his slide move (that's what I call ducking and sliding across the floor) is full of wrath. Be ready to jump or do the slide move yourself! When you win you get the Shadow Blade. The password for every level is a 4X4 grid. This one is 4 across and 4 down, 3-4, 3-2, 3-1 and 1-1. Got that? Spark Man: Spark Man is tough. Keep moving and hit him with the Shadow Blade about seven times. When you win you get the Spark Shock. The password is 4-4, 3-4, 4-3, 3-1 and 2-2. Got that? Snake Man: Use the Spark Shock. This guy isn't too hard, but be ready to jump. When you win you get the Search Snake and Rush Coil. The password is 4-3, 3-3, 3-4, 2-4 and 1-4. Gemini Man: Use the Search Snake. This guy's REALLY simple, but there are two of him. When you win you get the Gemini Laser. The password is 2-1, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2 and 4-2. Giant Eye: Use the Spark Shot, or, if you run out, the Shadow Blade. Be ready to jump. What do you get for this REALLY hard battle, besides healing of weapons and HP? NOTHING! The password is 3-1, 4-2, 2-2, 2-3, and 1-3. Drill Man: Use the Mega Buster. He's pretty simple if you know his routine. Watch out, for when he goes underground, he will come up in a few seconds where you stand. Hit him when he comes up. You get the Drill Bomb. The password is 1-2, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 and 4-4. Skull Man: This guy is SIMPLE. Charge up the Mega Buster when his shield is on and then shoot him. You get the Skull Barrier. The password is 4-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-3 and 4-4. *** Items: E-Tank: This is REALLY useful. It will heal your entire HP! You carry it around with you. Weapon-Healer: This heals a little of your weapon meters. Not too useful if you don't use weapons too much. Weapon-Healer X2: This heals most of your weapon meters. Still not very useful. HP-Healer: This heals a little of your HP. Useful if you get hit a lot. HP-Healer X2: This heals most of your HP. Use these to your advantage. You can get any of these items from Flip-Top. *** FAQ: Q: How do I get to those hard-to-reach items? A: Use Rush Coil. Q: Okay, where is this "Rush Coil?" A: You get it for beating Snake Man. Q: That stupid (insert boss here) is beating me every time! A: Check boss strategies, or, if you're in a huge hurry, simply be ready to jump. Friends: Rush Coil: This item lets you bounce up to hard-to-reach places. Useful. Flip-Top: Moving canister that flips open (hence the name) and gives you an item (see items). Rush Jet is probably in this game too, but I haven't gotten him yet. Any knowledge of what boss you beat to get him? E-mail me! Final notes: General Locke made this walkthrough. His e-mail is cfetters@willinet.net. Coming soon: More walkthroughs More boss strategies A walkthrough of the levels How YOU can help: Any better boss strategies would be good. I need to know: Are there any more friends? What boss do you have to beat to get Rush Jet?
