Intro:

Hi! I first played this game when I found it at Toys R Us and bought it
because I was bored. It's a pretty good game if you're really bored and if you
like games where the whole game is to keep collecting things. This game has
only eight levels, but most of them are pretty hard. The worst part of this
game is that it had NO BOSSES! It would have been fun to fight a super hard
dinosaur or something.

2. Story:

In case you somehow didn't know, Jurassic Park was a pretty cool movie where
some scientists find an island that still have dinosaurs on it, and they get
attacked by them throughout the movie. They also ended up making two other
sequels. The movies all had pretty good graphics, too.
Here's the story from the back of the box:
Something has survived...

...on the mysterious Isla Sorna, and it's your job to find out exactly what.
You must infiltrate the island, collect vital information and thwart the
efforts of the evil BioSyn team. A difficult enough task if the island wasn't
infested with man-eating dinosaurs! Welcome to The Lost World: Jurassic Park,
the largest adventure you'll ever fit in your pocket!

3. Controls(from game booklet):
-------------------------------
Control pad-
Up - Enter doors, Summon elevators when in front of elevator switch. Pull your
character up when hanging from a ledge.
Down - Crouch. Down + left/right to crawl.
Left/Right - move. press again while walking to run.
A Button - Jump.
B Button - Attack with selected weapon, press to draw weapon, release to fire.

Weapons/Items:
--------------
Medi-paks - these are in the same of a plus sign, and will restore partial
health. Large Hearts will restore health completely.
Ammo - spare ammunition and grenades can be found to replenish your ammo.
Invulnerable Shield - This rarely appears in a box, but it makes you
invincible for a few seconds.
Pistol - This small caliber weapon is best used for short-range attacks. It
fires slowly, so it may not be affective against fast enemies.
Grenade Launcher - This weapon shoots out grenades, and there is a two second
delay between the moment the grenade is fired and detonation. The longer the
B Button is held down, the farther the grenade will be launched. They can
bounce and ricochet off walls, door frames, and the ground.
Spear Gun - When underwater, you will automatically be equipped with a spear
gun.

4. Screen Display:
------------------
1. On the bottom bar of the screen, there is a picture of a gun to show what
your currently selected weapon is. Directly to the right of that shows your
ammo.
2. A huge bar to the right of that is your Health Meter.
3. To the right of your health meter, there is an arrow that always points to
the direction of your nearest objective, this is very useful throughout the
game.
4. At the end of the bottom status bar is a number representing how many
objects are remaining to be collected.

5. Enemies:
-----------
Well here I will list all the enemies and hazards and some tips on
defeating them.
1. Tyrannosaurus: This is a very quick enemy and can take a lot of damage, but
they can't fit into smaller spaces, so you can escape them.
2. Velociraptor: These are quick pack hunters, and can leap when attacking,
but they can be taken down with a few shots.
3. Compsognathus: These are very small and suddenly burst out of trees or
bushes to attack you. They are low to the ground, so you may have to duck to
attack them.
4. Triceratops: These are completely immune to frontal assault, and they
charge at you. If you get run over by them, it's instant death! Luckily they
are quiet unless provoked by loud noises.
5. Stegosaurus: An extremely docile creature, but it will swing its tail like
a wrecking ball when provoked.
6. Hadrosaur: These creatures are small and mostly harmless if left to
themselves.
7. Pterodactyl: These flying carnivores attack in packs. They will swoop down
and carry their victims away, so try to duck!
Other Enemies:
--------------
Biosyn Team Members: There are two types, those who carry rifles and divers
who carry harpoons. They are fairly weak and easy to kill.
BioSyn Security Men: These have armor and have shotguns and grenades.
Dodgson: A formidable enemy. This is the head of the BioSyn corporation and
has a pistol and grenades.
Spore Plants: These spread deadly spores around themselves when approached.
Jump over or run past these to avoid damage.
Lagoosh: A sloth-like creature that spits acid at you when you walk by.
Steam pipes: These power the island. They can cause serious damage if you
touch the steam.
Scorpions: These appear in level 2 or higher, but they are very weak and do
very little damage when touched.
Bats: These appear in level 5 and higher. They are pretty easy to kill, you
just aim up and shoot it once.

6. Walkthrough:
---------------
Well, it's finally time for the Walkthrough. I will guide you throughout this
game and through all eight levels. The whole objective is to get ten items in
every level, mostly being ten dinosaur eggs.
Level 1: Arriving on the Island.
--------------------------------
When the game starts, quickly go to the first ledge on the right and fall
down. When you fall to the bottom, make your way to the left end of the shaft
and attack the small dinosaur by selecting a weapon with Select and attacking
with the B button. Stand over the egg and press down to collect it. Now only
nine eggs are left! now make your way up again, and smash the box with your
hand attack and a Med pack will appear. Press down to get it and get your
health back up in case you lost some from those two small dinosaurs. As soon
as you get up the ledge, you should be pleased to find there is another egg
laying right there! Press down to collect it, and you will have eight left
to collect.
Continue going right and smash the box to get some ammo. Fall down the next
long ledge, but watch out, it's a long drop! smash the next box to get more
ammo. Go to the left and shoot the dinosaur to get health, and then get the
next egg. Now fall down the next ledge. You will see a flower thing shooting
bombs at you. Aim your grenade launcher and one shot will kill it, now jump
over to the ledge where the flower was. Keep going right and watch out for
those dinosaurs. You should quickly run past them and then run up and grab
onto the high ledge. Smash the box to get the ammo and then go all the way to
the right to get the egg. Now go back to that ledge part and fall down.
Run all the way to the right and keep avoiding dinosaurs, then go down and
left to get the next egg, only five left now. Make your way back up to the
main ledge. On your way back, fall down into a small corner to get a box
with Armor to make you invincible for a few seconds. Now when you get to the
main ledge, fall down again and keep going right to get an egg. Four left to
go! Now make your way back to where you destroyed that first flower and fall
down.
Keep going right to get an egg, and then watch out for the Stegosaurus, and
try to jump over it. Continue running left and jump up the next two ledges and
get an egg, don't forget to dodge the flowers! Now go back to the beginning of
the game and where you first fell down a ledge, continue going right to see an
egg laying right there. Jump over the huge dinosaur and right in front is the
last egg! Congratulations, you finished the first level!
Level 2: Exploring the Forest.
------------------------------
This level is slightly harder than the first. In this level, you will first
meet BioSyn team members, attack them quickly! This level has a lot of jumping
from tree to tree, so keep an eye out for any ledges. Make your way up the
first tree and grab the invincible shield within that box, then go right and
get your first egg. Jump over to the next tree and there is another egg
on the bottom branch. Jump over to the next tree and smash the box for a large
health, and then there will be another egg on the branch directly below it.
Now jump over to the next tree.
As soon as you get to the next branch, an egg is right there! easy, huh? Well
keep going right and on the next tree, there are two eggs, one at the bottom
and one at the top. Now only five left, and keep dodging those damn birds,
because they grab you and move you to another tree. Now there's only 4 eggs
left. Smash the box next to the previous egg to get a large health. Grab the
egg on the next tree, and then get off the trees and make your way to the
next patch of, uh...more trees! Grab the next egg that they put right in front
of your face and keep moving right. Get some ammo and a full heart from the
two boxes on the floor. Grab the next egg on the tree, then make your way
to the end of that house with all the Team Members and quickly grab the last
egg.
Level 3: The Laboratory.
------------------------
This level is a little different, because instead of collecting eggs, you get
to collect ten computer disks, and they are actually placed harder than eggs.
As soon as the level starts, go the to top left with the box for health, and
go down the elevator. Kill the dinosaur and guard, then go down the next
elevator. Go right and grab the invincible shield from the box, then continue
going right again. Collect the first disk and go up to get health from the
box. Now go left and go down that elevator. Grab the disk and health and make
your way back up. Go up the previous two elevators, and when you get to the
one all the way to the left, go down it to get another disk, and then go back
up.
Go back to where the level started, and this time go right. Go down the next
elevator to get a disk, and then go all the way up. Get the next disk and keep
going. Go all the way right to get a disk, then go back and go down the
elevator you just skipped. Go to the middle stop and go left and kill the
dinosaur to get a disk, then go back and go all the way down.
Three disks are now left. Go all the way to the right and press up to make
the elevator move down, and then go up to the first stop and get the disk.
Press up on the next control panel to use the elevator, go up and get a disk,
then go down to the next area. Go down into the tight corner to get the last
disk after defeating the small dinosaur, and you've just finished level three.
Level 4: Lost in Sub Labs.

In this level, something new is introduced, doorways. You press up when you're
next to them to get through. Having doorways makes this level much harder than
the previous ones, because the level is larger. As soon as you start off,
smash the box to get some ammo. Keep going right and fall down the first ledge
and then go left. Kill the dinosaur and press up when you are standing next to
the door so you go through it. Be prepared to kill the stupid velociraptor and
get the health that he drops. Keep going right to notice another new addition,
tunnels. Just keep walking right and you will automatically start crawling
through it.
Right next to that pile of barrels is your first item for this level.
I have no idea what that thing is, but the instruction booklet calls it
a "Cryogenic DNA flask". Well press down to get it and then continue going
right and go through the next door to see another DNA flask right there. Grab
it and continue going right. Shoot the guard and then watch out for the steam
pipe and go through the tunnel. You will see an elevator spot, but skip it for
now and go all the way to the right to get another DNA flask. Go through that
door and kill the guard. Smash the box next to the door to get all your health
back, then go right to pick up the next DNA flask. If you want, you can keep
on going all the way to the right, but the only thing there is a box with some
ammo.
When you get that, make your way through the previous doors until you get back
to that elevator spot. Stand next to a computer screen and hold up to make the
elevator come down. Go on it and press up once, and go to the area on the
right. Kill the dinosaur and guard, and smash the box to find nothing inside
of it. Well go through the doorway and smash the box to get ammo. Kill the
dinosaur and fall down the area to get another DNA flask. You should now have
five left. Go back up the ledge and go right through the tunnel. Press up on
the computer to make the elevator come up, then go on it and press up. Go to
the left to get another DNA flask, and then continue going right. Kill the guy
throwing grenades and go through the door. Go all the way to the left to get
another DNA flask. Now there's only three to go. Go up the next ledge to see
another DNA flask, get it and go up the next ledge. Go to the right and enter
the door. Kill the grenade guy and go get the next flask. Go back out of that
door and go up to the next ledge. Keep going left and you should see a box
with a large health and a flask next to it. Get it to complete this level.
Level 5: Caves.
---------------
In this level, you have to find ten eggs again. When you start, fall down the
ledge and start to go right. Fall down the next ledge to see some dinosaur
stomping on the ground. Jump over him and hop in the water and you will
automatically be equipped with a harpoon. Be careful, because there will be
enemy divers and snakes underwater attacking you. Swim to the right and attack
the swimmer, and then hop on the ledge and get health from the box. Jump on
the higher ledge to get the first egg. Go back in the water and swim down,
then to the right, and then go down again. Swim to the first area on the left
and jump up on the ledge. Break the box to get a heart and all your health
back. Go to the left pool and swim to the right to get ammo, then go back and
swim down. Keep going right and notice that your health slowly decreases, and
that's because you are using up air, so use your time wisely.
Go up on the next ledge to get an egg and all of your health back. Keep going
right and go up on the area to get all your health again, and then go back in
the water and keep going right to get another egg and more health. Now go back
into the water. Keep going right and swim up to the first area on the right
and get out of the water. Smash the box to get a heart and then go up on the
ledge to get another egg. You should now have six eggs left. Go back in the
water and swim all the way up. Get on land and go up the right corner to get
an invincible shield, and then continue going left. Go up to the right ledge,
then go up another ledge to get another egg. Go back down to the left area and
go up. Keep going right until you see a snake, then fall down to get another
egg.
Go back up and go left to where the geyser is. Go up to the ledge to get
another egg and then fall back down. Dodge the stomping creature and go get
the next egg. Go back in the water and go all the way down, then go up to the
first area you see and get the egg. Now there's only one left. Keep going down
into the water and skip the first area you see, and keep going right to get
up to the next piece of land with the last egg.
Level 6: The Dark Forest.
-------------------------
This is the same level as the second one, except during night time and it has
more enemies. You still have to collect ten eggs, pretty boring. As soon as
you start, jump two trees to the right and get the first egg. I got lucky and
a pterodactyl flew me over to the first egg, what a dumb bird! Now smash the
box to get some grenade ammo. Jump to the top of the next tree to get the next
egg. Jump down to the ground and make your way to the next tree to get the
third egg. The next egg is right on the ground of the next tree, get it and
get another egg at the top of the same tree. You should now have five eggs
left.
Jump over to the next two tress to get another egg, or just let a stupid bird
take you to it. Jump over to the next tree to get ANOTHER egg. Now there are
three eggs left. Go down two branches on the same tree to get another egg, two
to go. Go on the next tree to get another egg. Go all the way to the right of
the level to get the last egg sitting in the middle of two pterodactyls, and
if you're fast, they won't get a chance to attack you. This was probably the
easiest level in the game! I think the game creators got bored or ran out of
creativity by this point.
Level 7: Journey to the Jetty.
------------------------------
In this level, you will get to meet the T-Rex, they are pretty fast and do
a lot of damage, but they are easy to avoid. You will also meet a tiny
dinosaur that walks slowly and does tiny damage, but they drop health when you
attack them, and they are easy to kill. When you start, go left and fall down
the ledge and keep going left. Go up the first ledge you see to get the first
egg. Then go back down and when you see a snake, go down again, Follow the
arrow on the status bar and you'll soon see an egg. Get it and smash the box
to get a large health. Go right and fall down the next ledge, and then follow
the arrow to the third egg next to a stomping dinosaur. Quickly get the egg
and make your way to the left of the area and get the egg next to the snake.
Make your way up to where the nearest T-Rex is, and keep going right. Make
your way to the top level of the game and get another egg. You should now have
five left to get. Fall down the right ledge, and go right, and fall down the
next two ledges. Go left to get another egg next to a T-Rex. Go right again
and go up the ledge with the stomping dinosaur. You will then see a snake
guarding an egg, kill it and get it. Go back up to the second stomper and
throw about five or six grenades at it to kill it, and then get the health it
drops.
Keep moving right and smash the nearby box to get a large health. You should
now have three eggs left to go and your health should be at max. Dodge the
T-Rex and get its egg. Go to the right and get the next egg, then drop down
and kill the stomping dinosaur with three grenades. Jump over the waterfall
and you've got the last egg!
Level 8: Escape from the Island.

So we're FINALLY at the last level of the game. What's wrong, you should be
dancing with glee by this point! Whatever, as soon as you start, go left and
skip the water area and get the first egg on the last piece of land. Then go
right and, guess what, another egg! Okay, now go jump in the water area. Go
left and swim up to the first area you see. There will be another egg on the
right, get it and jump over to the right. Shoot the guy with three pistol
shots and get his health, and then go get the egg next to him on the left.
Jump over the next two boats, shoot the guy on land, and get the next egg on
the ledge. Keep going left and swim down in the water. When you can, go back
on land and get a large health inside of a crate, and then go right and get
another egg. Only four to go. Go up the ledge on the right to get the next
egg.
Go back to the water and swim left until you see a boat with an egg. Get it,
and then go back on land. Jump over the next patch of water, and go up a ledge
to see a crate. Break it and get a large health. Keep going all the way to the
right as you can, and then go in the water and keep swimming until you can get
on land. Get a box with large health, and then go back in the water and keep
going to the right. Get up on land and get the next egg, and then smash the
box to get some grenade ammo. shoot the next three guys carefully and get the
health. Go up to the corner and throw a grenade in the bomb guy's face, and
get the LAST EGG! FINALLY! Well what do you get for beating this? A short, but
cool clip of your character jumping on a nearby boat and the island explodes.

I have found one glitch in this game. When you jump and hold the B button, the
character starts to do punches and kicks in the air. Well you know how if you
fall from a high ledge, you lose some health? Well if you want to jump from a
high ledge, just hold B while you're in the air and you won't lose health when
you land! You'll just land while doing a punch or a kick. I think this may
also make you immune to any gun shots while performing this in the air.
