"Darkwing Dead Duck"

First off don't get me wrong people, I love duck tales, and still watch them believe it or not, also Launch pad is cool too! But, I just couldn't get into this game play. Disney took a good idea, and seemed to mess it up in some ways.

Lets start off by saying the Graphics and Detail of this game is great, so is the story, for its time, 1990, its an amazing game. Then again, you would expect top of the line graphics from most Disney games. Sadly this is the good part of the game, after this it all goes down hill.

One of the bad things about this game is the scrolling, it is terrible. For an action platform game, I was very disappointed. Let me give an example so people can understand. Lets say you start from left to right, fight enemies, picking things up till you reach the end of the board. You are alive and kicking, and you have three or four jumps to make to go up. Now you are going up as soon as you make your first jump, the bottom of the game is gone, thats it just gone, it disappears. So if you walk of the edge by mistake, you have to redo the whole board from the start. And this is not only on this level, this seems to be the format for the game, which I may say it stinks. In other video games, when you fall off the top of a tree or where ever you are, you land on the bottom and try again, right? But not here, once you advance one step up, the bottom of your board is gone, which makes no sense to me.

The second bad thing about this game is the controls, they bad too. The jumping at an angle takes along time to get used to it, it took me hours or practice to learn, and even then I was off, which made me wonder is this really worth it, so in other words from a fun duck tales game it turned to an annoying little game. What the developers are trying to do here is create 3D jumping in a 2D platform game, and you know thats a disaster just trying to attempt such a thing.

The third bad thing about this game is its only three levels, so it should be fast to clear, but I couldn't cause I got stuck on the second level, and spend way too many hours trying to clear it, so I gave up. So a four for me I think is a very generous score, in which I gave a game that I was unable to beat. So fellow gamers if you want a challenge here you go, but don't say I didn't warn you.
