"A Dragon should EAT this game"

INTRO
When I saw no reviews for this game, I know I was in trouble with it. I also know it was my duty to write a review and explain how bad it was. I wish at least one person would of wrote something so I would of known better to stay far far far away from it. This game goes from bad to worse. The trend for bad game boy games continues for me. It's like 8 out of 10 I chose are bad. I thought the last one was really bad, but this one qualifies right up there with it. When I think of Dragon's Lair, I think of the cool cartoon arcade classic from the 80 's. Why did the developers take this classic and turn it into a monster? To me it looks like they were trying to cash out on the name, and it looks like they did.

GAME PLAY
You're not going to hear anything good about this part. I know this game was made in 1991, and I did cut them some slack for that, but still no excuse. For starters, this has nothing to do with the original. The guy you play with might be Dirk, but not sure what to make of him. Story? Sorry I failed to find one or see one. The movement is horrible, gets stuck or delayed most of the time. All you have is a jump button, both A and B is jump. His jumping style is bad; you will die 80% of the time. Your job is to collect life squares, don't know how many, there are so many of them all over the place. You are in a never-ending world map, I collect so many of those things, and nothing ever happened. The controls re very sensitive, as soon as you get close to a spike or something that looks like an enemy, you die. Sorry, but this style of game play in short just stinks.

APPEARANCE
This is not too good either; then again it's not all that bad. Remember it was the year 1991, so you got to cut it some slack. They didn't have top of the line graphics like they do now. But I still think it could have been a little bit better. Don't get me wrong the game play does no justice to so and so graphic artwork. The sound is just plain terrible. I wasn't too surprised at this. This is wy we have mute buttons. Some games are better off being played silently, but you didn't even want to do that with this.

OVERALL
Game boy games seem to miss the point in how to make a good video game. I have no idea what these developing companies are thinking when they make a game. It needs to be interesting, fun, addicting, and a nice little story. Good artwork would not be a bad idea too. They struck out here big time. I have played a lot of bad game boy games; this one should be on the top 10 list to avoid. Sorry Dragon's lair's fans, but that's all I have left to say.
