"The game in which DK throws barrels at you!"

I don't know about you, but I think Donkey Kong is awesome! He has the personalized tie, eats bananas, and he's a monkey! So awesome! Hail to this game! It popularized the coolest monkey on the planet! Yippee!!!!! Wa-haaaaaa! Woo!

.......Oops. I said that, didn't I? I was just typing off, okay? Either that, or it was that pesky monkey I'm dealing with... I said that too, didn't I? Well, ignore that first part. Let's just get on with the review.....

In this game, Donkey Kong has captured a young lady (it's not Princess Toadstool, but I don't know who it is). It's up to Mario to save her. While Donkey Kong is throwing barrels at you, you have to dodge them. Along the way you can also grab a hammer with which you defend yourself against the barrels. Then eventually you will get to the top of the level where you meet this unknown damsel. Donkey Kong will then grab the girl and take her away somewhere else. I don't know when you finally get her cause I haven't beaten the game yet.

Besides these levels, there are also levels where he does not throw barrels at you. Instead, he takes the maiden away into a door that he locks. Your goal is to find the key in the level and open it. Easier said than done. You travel through a town, a forest, and other stages. Your goal is to, of course, save the woman from the giant monkey.

Story: It's one of those cheesy stories where some princess or whoever gets kidnapped and it's up to Mario to save her. Cliche! Cliche! I'll give it a 3.

Sound: The most annoying sound in the game is the princess screaming. The music is decent though. I'll give that a 6.

Graphics: Donkey Kong looks funny. Mario is okay. Miss Whoever is good. Barrels look weird. Flames jump around. You look like an idiot when you use the hammer... I don't know how to judge this.. Hmm, maybe a 6.

Control: Simple. Use the D-Pad to move and A to jump (I forget what B does). I'll give that an 8.

Overall: I give the game a 7. It's fun, but it can get frustrating. I suggest renting it first (I don't know how to rent Game Boy games, but if you know how to, please remember to be careful where you leave your Game Boy or the game).
