Review by Leetdude

"A decent addition to Mega Man, with flaws."

I didn't expect Mega Man's greatness to carry out to Game Boy nearly as good as it is on the other systems. I guess I was right. Mega Man III is good, but is too frustrating and too tough to see on the Game Boy.

GRAPHICS (6/10)
Ahhh! My eyes! One of Mega Man's neat factors is its great colors and its clear, sharp graphics. Unfortunately, this can't be carried out in its greatness on the Game Boy. The colors are nil, and you can't seriously see the screen worth a *Cid*. The only saving grace is that the green effect is definitely notable in some areas.

SOUND (8/10)
Classic Mega Man music, always a great thing. In fact, it can even be carried out to the Game Boy without being totally messed up! Standard sound effects, and pretty great music with the flaw in the music quality that all Game Boy games have a problem with.

PLAY CONTROL (7/10)
What happened to Mega Man's perfect play control?! Game Boy happened, that's what. The play control is the same as the NES greats, but its flaws are in the frustration. Response time to scowl at. While it's in most Game Boy games, it shows in Mega Man III. This can lead to some serious frustration factors, making me want to throw my Game Boy at times.

GAME PLAY (9/10)
Some greats don't change, and the game play is one of those. The game play is very great the only thing not brought down notably by Game Boy. In some factors, in fact, it even gets better with the Game Boy! Most notable is the easy-to-insert cartridges and the portableness-standard Game Boy factors. I feel that the bosses's greatness carried out to the Game Boy really well. The only flaw I see is, once again, in the response time. Jump when you're on the edge of that platform, dangit!

REPLAYABILITY (6/10)
Well, there's no hidden factors, and the game is too frustrating for much motivation to play over again. However, If you want pure Mega Man action and you don't have a Nintendo, or if you're bored on a car trip/bus trip, you'll pick this up again.

OVERALL (7/10)
While flawing in comparison to the perfection of the Nintendo Mega Man games, Mega Man III has its notable areas. However, Mega Man IV majorly improves in its notably flawn audio/video, which is blamed on the Game Boy itself. I feel that this game will be vastly improved on the slightly bigger and much clearer screen of the Game Boy Advance, preferably with a color remake. But until then, you'll definitely want to try it before you buy it.
