Jurassic Park

"Yikes..."

This was one of the first games I bought for my Game Boy, back in the years when the Game Boy was a heavy, gray brick. In that time, the NES, the SNES and the GB were releasing games at the same time, so I tried the Jurassic Park games in each format. I really liked the SNES version, but the NES and GB games were really lame. They were extremely dull, and uninspiring... and had little to no replay value. Let me get into the details...

***Story***
The same as the NES and SNES game. You have to escape the chaotic park, rescuing everyone who gets into trouble. Each stage is a different challenge and a diferent dinosaur attacks you each time. Not really good, but not even the movie had much of a detailed story.

I give it a 6/10.

***Graphics***
I'm not a graphics freak, but I have to admit they were kind of bad. It's hard at first to see anything, including enemies and items, which are really important. The small dinosaurs look ugly and dull, bu the big ones were well drawn. The animation was average at best.

Graphics deserve a 6/10.

***Audio***
I don't like to repeat words, but the only one that describes best the sound of this game is DULL. You'll forget the music immediately, since it is not very memorable. Sounds are very recycled and boring. The sound department was just mediocre... and the real stinker of the game hasn't appeared, yet.

Audio gets a 6/10.

***Gameplay***
The worst part of the game. I know this is getting repetitive, but.. the whole game is dull. Its extreme boring, since the beginning, and you will be so annoyed with the gameplay you realli won't want to beat it. The first level is incredibly dull and you will hardly have an idea of how to finish it. The rest of the game is like that... so don't bother playing it. Weapons are boring and add nothing to the game. Levels are boring (everything is boring) and uninspiring, besides insanely challenging.

Gameplay is total crap. That means it gets a 1/10.

***Replayability***
Forget about Replayability! You souldn't even play it once!
But if you are masochistic and feel like passing this game, go ahead.
No Replayability.

Is it worth a buy? Not at all... and its really hard to find, too. But if you are a Jurassic Park fan you can try to find it somewhere.
