Metroid II: Return of Samus

Review by Scrapper7

"A Master Piece!"

I first played this game on a Gameboy Color and was instantly amazed. For this game being made so long ago it was amazing. The graphics, the layout, everything! Most people don't like this game because of the difficulty, but the thing is it isn't that hard! Any way, this game is an instant classic that should be played by anyone with a Gameboy.

Graphics: These graphics are amazing! Everything is so visible and not blurred. You can see the lines in Samus' suit and the divots in the ground. This is not like any other Gameboy game with no detail, this is a masterpiece! When you play it with a Gameboy Color there are thousands of beautiful colors that help make this game great. 10-10

Game Play- This game has depth. The areas in the different are so gigantic and vast you get lost easily. The sequences where you fight the metroids are amazing, and how they could fit such a vast game in a tiny cartridge amazes me. 10-10

Story- This is a linking story. If you haven't played the first metroid you will have no idea why someone would go to a planet to kill creatures. I'll try to explain it. A group of space pirates found a creature(metroid)that could latch on to something and steal it's energy. They decided to breed it and take over the galaxy with them. They almost succeeded until a warrior came and killed the leader of the space pirates, the Mother Brain! Scientist thought that what the warrior was a cyborg, but was actually a woman! To prevent that ever happening again, the woman, Samus, went to the metroid home world Sr788 to try to destroy them all. 10-10

Sound/Music- The sound and music in this game are great. They match the mood of an area and send a spine tingling down your back. They play out perfectly in this game. 10-10

Difficulty- This game is very difficult. You WILL get lost in some of the areas and you WILL die. Otherwise once you get an idea of where an item is, it is probably there. Otherwise this game is very difficult. 10-10

Replay Value- I have played and beaten this game nearly ten times, and still find enjoyment in killing metroids and playing withe the weapons. This game also has numerous secret worlds that are awesome.(Go to www.metroid2.com for more on secret worlds) 10-10

Overall- This is a great game and should be played by anyone who has a gameboy, So get out there and play it!
10-10

Rent/Buy- Buy, Buy, BUY!!!
