Review by Mike Truitt

"I am loosing my Marbles!!!"

What is more fun than playing with your balls? Nothing! That is why Marble Madness was created. The basic idea of this highly under-rated classic game was to race your marble through a maze and try to beat the clock. It may not sound like much fun, but believe me, once you start to play it, you will not stop until you have beaten the game.

Pros:

1. Extremely addicting
2. One of the most fun games for GB
3. Great controls
4. Awesome multiplayer modes
5. Practically everything else

Cons:

1. Only 5 levels

If you are used to the lackluster graphics of GB, then you might find this game a bit of a break from the norm. There are incredibly well done 3-D levels. The background is really kind of bland, but it is really hard to notice because you have to pay attention to the game and your marble. One of the better visual games for any early system.

Marble Madness has some really awesome sound effects. What can be better than a bunch of noises that sound like they should be a last name to a girl named Betty? I will tell you what... NOTHING! More games need to back track a little bit and learn from Marble Madness, beeping for sound effects are the best possible thing out there.

There are two different control modes, 45% and 90%. Either one that you use you should have no problem learning and mastering in no time. You should get frustrated trying to maneuver around frying pans that try to hit you in the head and acid that burn you down to nothing, you might even say a couple four letter words, but no matter what happens, the controls will stay the same, great.

Marble Madness has two different playing modes. Which ever one that you choose you will find that there is addicting game play and an all around fun game. There really are no complaints about game play, except it might just be a little bit too much fun to play.... Nah

Although it is a very short game and can be beat in a matter of minutes (literally), it is surpassingly fun to play no matter which time you are playing it. It has some kind of freaky ''You will like me'' zombie vibe going on, and I don't like it one bit. That is true except for the fact that I like it a lot.

You would think that a puzzle type game would have absolutely no multiplayer mode or just a really bad one, but for some reason Marble Madness does, and it has a really good one. You will find yourself sitting next to your friend, concentrating intensely and then.... Wham! You hit him in the back of the head so they look at you giving you just enough time to push them off of the cliff and get a lead.

If there was one downfall to Marble Madness then it would have to be there is no ending. Well there is, but if you beat the game you will find that the ending is weak. I wish they could have made some more levels and then for ending, if you beat the game in under a certain time you would get those levels, but that is only a wish.

When you first pick up the rectangular controller and play this game it will be challenging, but once you have put in a little time it will become almost second nature to beat the levels. The last two levels of the game are challenging no matter how often you played. If any body tells you different, they are lying.

Not only have I never played a game like this before it came out, but I have never played a game like this after it came out. I wish that one of the big companies make a sequel, but keep the exact same graphics, but make a couple hundred levels. That would make the game so awesome! But what do I know? Still, this is the most original game I think I have played in a long time.

If you are contemplating buying this game, you need not look any further.... Yes just buy it already. I guaranty that you will like Marble Madness or I will give you: well I have nothing to give but trust me you will like it.
