F-1 Race

Review by Forget_Jersey

"As if you were planning on actually buying this anyway..."

Back in my day you didn't have any of these fancy 32-bit 'ad-van-ced' game boys in all dem crazy colors...no sir! It was in black and white! And it was really big! And it came with a complimentary copy of F-1 Race!

Title: Pretty basic here, but hey, it was short and sweet. Plus, it gets to be one of the games in the not so densely populated F catagory. So it's not the greatest name, but what can you expect from the early nineties anyway.
Score: 3

Graphics: Planning a trip to Australia? No need! Just play F-1 Race and you're almost there, speeding through the outback! Seriously though, this is a really really old game, don't expect much.
Score: 2

Characters: Ooh, rad. You get to pick from two cars, the classy and dependable Machine Type A, or for the more daring sort, the sporty and flashy Machine Type B. What is kinda funny is when you get in 3rd and you half-heartedly just raise your hand in the air, while the person in first is leaping in pure joy and the poor guy in fourth is angrily stomping the ground.
Score: 7

Sound: Nice grumbly car noise I guess. I'm not really one to be big on Game Boy music anyway, but this is certainly not something to make a techno remix out of (although I'm sure someone already has).
Score: 1

Difficulty: This isn't a difficult game in the sense of, ''if I could only figure out how'', it's a difficult game because of how the car steers. Have you ever gone sledding where there's a path that everybody's gone on so it's nice and padded down, and as long as you stay on it you're fine? But if you just barely touch the side, you're screwed for sure? It's like that
Score: 5

Options: Grand Prix, Time Trials and Multi Game. I suppose I'm impressed. I never really got the point of the Multi Game, then again I'm not the most hard core F-1 racer there ever was. And oh yeah, I guess it's nice that you can pick up from where you left off as far as saving goes.
Score: 4

So, overall a 4. Not like anyone would want to buy this anyway, but you never know.
