Overall View:
The gameboy was a one-of-a-kind system that set the standards for gaming today. Originally released in 1990(?) it became the first portable gaming system (at least as far as I'm concerned)

Graphics: 9/10

For it's time, the graphics were absolutely revolutionary. Though gaming graphics have changed dramatically, it's games still remain classic partly due to the graphics which no one could ever improve

Sound: 10/10

Again, the sounds was revolutionary when it came out, and still is better than some of the portable game systems today (game.com). Tetris especially, when you got to actually choose the background music. Although the quality of music is not up to today's standards, the music options available on most games are awesome!

Fun Value: 12/10

No one can beat this classic!!! Sure there was game gear, nomad, and game.com, but none of them had the selection of games, quality put into every aspect of the system, and the overall fun value that the game boy had. Even with an xbox, I'm sure almost anyone would end up going back for a good classic game of tetris on GB.

One thing many people don't realize is that this is not just a gaming system; it's an all-in-one inclusive portable computer. With special cartridges, you can turn this into a spellchecker, calculator, french/spanish translator, personal organizer, and even a travel guide! No other system had any of these features (except the built-in ones on game.com). Very original!!!

With the xbox, gamecube, and playstation 2, many people don't turn back to gameboy that often to play games. Even in the car, most rely on the ''better'' handhelds. Still, no one can refuse the opportunity to play some of the classic games on this system!

The gameboy faired greatly when it first came out, and that let to gameboy color and now gameboy advance! Even the original gameboy and its games go fairly high on auction sites. Overall, this system has never gone out of style and no one would refuse to buy it at a reasonable price
