"Simple Grade-A fun; Best baseball game ever"

This game is easily my favorite baseball game ever, mostly because 1) Most Baseball games lack control and 2) I don't like baseball anyways. But what can I say. For someone that travels, it's the best game on a truly portable system. Usually when I have a flight, it's about and hour or two, and usually I have a couple of games that I think I will play, but end up not doing so because I start with this and can't stop. Even at home, after a good session of a game I would just pop this in a get distracted very easily.
Simply put, this game is truly what the older games are about: Pure and simple fun. Now to an actual review.

Gameplay: 10/10. This is what games should be all about. Somehow, this game is just engrossing. If you've played it, you know what I mean. You can't stop. This game takes a while to beat, so when you start, it's hard to stop because it seems so simple and easy but it's not.

Graphics: 7/10. This is one game that actually, in my opinion, looks better on the original Gameboy than on any new reincarnation (GBC, GBA). Simple fun.

Sound: 4/10. Simple batting noise, simple music that gets really annoying. The only sound I like is the ball flying off your bat (Whhheeeeooooooooooo, or something like that).

Play Control: 6/10. Either really bad or okay, depending on what you're like. All the players move together, but in some cases that's okay. The only problem is when your guy stays on base when you want him to field that line drive. Batting is easy because you don't need to gauge vertical, only horizontal movement. Don't think this makes it easy though, as the pitchs have a lot of movement on them. As for Pitching, it takes a while to get used to each pitcher, but eventually you will find a good pitch with each (Me, I just pitch down the middle and field it. It's more fun and my pitchers last longer. Plus I have a great pitch with Cary on the West team that freezes the batters.)

Replay value: 9/10. The other place this game shines. Way too much fun to stop after just one game.

Buy or rent? Buy. Five bucks at Funcoland. I would pay six times that amount easily...

Final thoughts:
Pros:
-Great engrossing fun that you will really love.
Cons:
-Possibly too engrossing.
