Qix

Review by Mmeeva

"A quirky game that could have been better."

Qix is by far one of the strangest games ever made. It is also very simple and only somewhat addicting. You play as some sort of Crystal that draws lines. As soon as you touch another part of the wall a shape will form in whatever from you drew. This may sound easy, but other nusiances such as beams of lights, and electric sparks try and stop you. See I told you it was one of the strangest games made.

Gameplay- This game is all too simple. Draw lines and avoid any foreign objects that may be along the way. Anybody will be able to get the hang of this game, by sitting down and playing for just a few minutes. But the game does get boring after awhile, almost repetitive gamelay, makes the game feel pretty boring at times.

Audio- The music in this game is pretty bland, even for a Game Boy system. In fact I suggest that you play with the volume way down, and play any other type of music for background sound. The music is quite horrible, and will probably put you to sleep with about ten minutes or more of gameplay.

Video- The graphics are pretty bland and simple. But considering it is more of a puzzle game, and not many puzzle games focus too deeply on graphics, I guess this department can be forgiven.

Replayability- Replay value on Qix is pretty low as well. Most gamers will probably get bored after the first few stages of play. Even though in later stages they throw in more nusiance objects to make it more difficult, it still does not warrant another play.

This game may appeal to some, but I feel that just about everyone else will feel bored with this game all too quickly. At times it can be fun, but that appeal is way too short. If this game would have come with a little more variety within it, I'm sure that this game could have been much better. Only try this game if you feel like something new, or just want to try one of those strange games. Otherwise save you money for something else.
