Lethal Weapon

Review by Dysentery Gary

"Lethally horrible."

Well well well, if it isn't Lethal Weapon, I hope your prepared to read a review of a horrible game. You play as the Lethal Weapon guys, obviously, and you go around punching or shooting bad guys. Believe me, it sucks much more than that. So off we go, and another grand adventure through the magical land of poorly made movie based video games.

~~~Gameplay~~~ Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. You walk, punch, and jump. Real exciting isn't it? The levels are so boring that I'd rather write down my testament. Even for an early GameBoy game, the controls are unresponsive. You walk to the back of the screen to switch characters, and walk forward to try and get to the end of the level, which sometimes is just too tedious. And tedious + boring does not = happy camper. Which takes me to another point, you can't backtrack. You walk backwards and you end up changing characters. Also, most of the time you try to punch, even if you're right next to the enemy, your punches will go through them, so that's not too good either.
~~~Graphics~~~ Even for a GameBoy game these graphics are bad. To give you an idea of how bad they are, you can't tell your character apart from a building's window. The enemies? Might as well be mail boxes. Walking blocks that shoot at you, that's it. If you want better graphics, go grab a 1980's Nancy Drew PC game. Lethal Weapon has no graphics to speak of.

~~~Sound~~~ The only sounds you hear are the background music, which is actually the original movie music thrown in a musical shedder, mixed with whale sounds, and digitalized. Yes, they're that bad. The other sound you hear is the gunshots, which sounds more like bubble wrap being pop than actual guns. Now we couldn't expect much from games those days, but certainly more than this, this crap.
~~~Replay Value~~~ Replay value? I'm not sure there even is a 'play value'. Don't ever play this game. Much less re-play it. I'm serious, if you play this game after reading my honest little review, there is something wrong with you. Fun is not here. Innovation is not here. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it took half a day to make the game, so it is possible that it came out the same day it was announced.

So, in conclusion, this is a very, very, very horrible game and should be avoided at all costs. Not even mega, uber, hardcore fans of the series will enjoy it in the least. Only bored schoolboys from the 1920's will enjoy it, and they would just use the cartridge as a target for their fathers to shoot at with the ol' family shotgun. My point? You must really be special if you don't understand yet. This game is horrible. I would rather play Superman64 and make a complete FAQ on it than play this. Seriously, don't buy it, even if it's just $2, you'll lose money.

Hope this review helped, have a good one.
