Tetris Attack

"One if not the best puzzle ever"

This is my first review, so I hope you'll like it :)

Tetris Attack is the 1st tetris that changed complete the mode how you play. In this game you don't have to fill lines to deleted them, here you have to clear block by connecting 3 or more blocks of the same kind. You can make chains and combos to send garbage blocks to your opponent. Well that's pretty much the basic.

Modes of Play

Endless: Here you can play & learn how to do combos & chains. You’ll have unlimited time, so you can play until the blocks reach the top. You can select the speed that the blocks arise, also the game level & at last you can choose the player you want to use.

Time Trial: Also here you can select the speed level, the game level & the player. The difference with Endless is that you have only 2 minutes to make a good score. The bad thing is that the game doesn’t have a memory, so when you turn off the GB, every records that you made will be deleted.

Stage Clear: You have to beat 6 stages (each one with 5 levels) before fighting against Bowser, the main thing here is to clear the blocks until you pass the clear line.
They give you a password here, so you don’t have to pass each level again when you restart a game.

Puzzle: This is a good way to pass the time, in this game you have limited moves to clear ALL the blocks to pass to the next level.

Vs. Com: This is the main game, where you have to rescue your friends from the hands of Bowser.

Storyline: 8.5/10
The main game (Vs. com) talks about a story in Yoshi island where Bowser & his friends used magic to control everyone in the island, but Yoshi wasn’t affected, so he decided to defeat Bowser. In his way to free their friends, Yoshi has to fight each of his friends in order to break the magic. Once Yoshi freed everyone, he and his friends decide to go to a cavern where Bowser & his friends are.
In the last stage (Hard) you’ll fight against Bowser.. When you beat him, the island magically transforms to its normal way and everyone cheers.

Music: 9/10
The music ain as bad as many people say, it has some good songs, but later in the game it could annoy you hearing the same song over and over until you pass the level you’re playing on.

Control: 10/10
The control works very simple. With the A button you can switch two blocks, with the B button you can speed up the rise of the blocks , with the Start button you can pause the game & the Select button doesn’t have a use.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics are good for a puzzle game. You can see clearly each piece of the game.

Difficulty: Varies
In almost all the modes you can select between 3 difficulties. The difficulty follows the AI of the computer, so the harder the difficult, the harder the CPU plays.

Value: 10/10
The modes of the games are very good, and if you get bored of playing against the CPU you can try to solve every puzzle the game offers, also you can play endless, to practice some Combos & Chains, or play against the time to get some scores.

Pros
- This game is very addictive, once you start to play you don’t want to quit until you pass the game.
- You can modify some passwords and create better ones.

Cons
- You need to remember or write the passwords that the game give you.
- The game doesn’t have a memory at all, so you can’t save all your records and stuff like that.

Overall Score: 10/10
I think that Tetris Attack is the best puzzler ever made. I have played a lot of puzzles, like the original Tetris, Dr Mario, Bust a Move, Magical Drop, Mole Mania, etc., and I think that the best one easily is Tetris Attack.
