"Ho Hum, does old = good?"

This game is a weird collection of classics. You have 5 games: Chef, Donkey Kong, Parachute, Helmet, and Vermin. Then, you select a mode for the game. Classic mode is the original release of the game. That means it looks and sounds terrible, and I did not find it too enjoyable. In modern mode, it looks nicer, and sounds nicer. You also play as your favorite nintendo characters like Mario, Wario, Yoshi, Peach, Toad, and Donkey Kong.

When you reach a certain point in a game, you get a star. Your stars accumulate, and when you reach a certain amount, you unlock an extra. Extras come in many forms. You can unlock additional games. Additional skill levels for games are unlockable. You also can unlock hints that are posted on a message board, a sound test, a ''museum'' where they show lesser known games, and more. This game has TONS of extras, to give it replay value.

The bad thing is that all of these games are simple and 1-screened (save for Donkey Kong).

HELMET
In Helmet(classic), you control this stick figure boy who is running in an allyway between houses. You must dodge falling objects and wait for a door to open. then you run through the door for points, then you go into another allyway. In the modern version, you control Mario. You can collect coins, there is variation in objects that fall, and variation in the alliways.

VERMIN
In Vermin (classic), you control a guy with 2 hammers. You have to whack moles that pop out of the ground. In the modern version, you control Yoshi. You have to nail shy guys who try to crack your eggs. This adds an interesting 3D aspect to the game, as you move in a ring.

DONKEY KONG
I actualy hate the classic version for this. It is so small and hard to see, and the control is bad. You have to knock Donkey off the platform. The modern version is similar, except for great graphics, lots of varaition, and it is much more fun.

PARACHUTE
This is the oppisite of helmet. You are in a boat in shark-infested waters. People are parachuting out of a plane, and you have to catch them before they fall in. The classic version is very straightfoward. In the modern version, things fall at different speeds, there is a cannon to worry about, and you can bounce people off of the shark's nose.

CHEF
In chef, you use a frying pan to bounce food and keep it off of the floor. The classic is simple. In the modern version, there is a lot to worry about. Yoshi follows you at all times. When you bounce the food a few times, it turns red. you have to then let the food fall behind you and Yoshi eats it. This is pretty fun.

GRAPHICS
The graphics for the classic versions is terrible. For the modern versions, It is about a 9/10. When put into a GBA/GBC, the color looks very good.

SOUND/MUSIC
The sound for this game gets no better than blips and bleeps. The music was meant to sound full and nice, but I think it is just a racket. It is not nice on the ears.

BUY or NOT?
If you are really fond of the oldies, and you take a lot of 9-hour car trips, this is the game for you. Otherwise, stay clear of it.
