Monopoly

"The best board game ever finally goes handheld!"

I don't remember when or why I got this game, but I'll never regret I did. As opposed to a lot other Game Boy games, this game has plenty of replayability value, especially when playing against your other friends. This classic board game is just great when stuck in a car with your family for a long time. I'll rate just a few of the things about Monopoly:

Graphics: 9
Reason: Not enough space, but great and real-looking.
I wouldn't give this any lower score. They made the board just like the one that's used in real life. There are also 8 pieces that look almost exactly like their counterparts in real life. All of the board spaces looked great, too. I especially loved the GO space. It was so cool seeing that space miniaturized.

Audio: 8
Reason: No Music
Well, this is the worst thing about the game. And it's not that bad. The downside is that there is no background music as you're playing, and that would have made the game a whole lot different, maybe even better. There isn't a whole lot of sound, either, but what they have is great. They have a dice rolling sound, a piece moving sound, and a cash register eating money sound. The beeping when you're bidding in an auction can get annoying, however, but it's nothing to downsize the score.

Controls: 10
Reason: Easy, Easy, Easy!
The controls are easy so you don't have to spend a whole lot of time familiarizing yourself with them. A is for rolling, buying, and selecting. B is for auctioning and going back. Start is for pause and select is for the menu. So, all in all, the controls are VERY standard and really easy, another upside to this game.

Gameplay: 9
Reason: Takes just a LITTLE too long to play.
It is just like the regular board game Monopoly. It takes strategy and a whole LOT of time to play, just like the real Monopoly game. My first set of batteries went out before my first game ended, because that's how long it takes. Some opponents are harder than others, and some use different strategies than others. If you think gameplay's too slow, go to the menu and press computer and then push quick. This will make the COM speed up in rolls and moving and everything else.

Replayability: 10
Reason: Just so fun and SO addictive!
This game is definitely addictive and it is so fun to play over and over again. And with the multiplayer option, what could be more fun than playing with your friends! It will keep you entertained for hours (and many batteries) with many pre-saved games for you to play and each game will be different even if you play a new one with the same people! It's so awesome!
