"Not that bad"

This is a fun game and easy in a way. “Blades of Steel” is a hockey game from a side view. It has the same rules as a real hockey game with 5 players on the floor as a real game. This game has different playing modes.

Gameplay

Gameplay is fun. As I said above there are three different modes. There is practice, Exhibition, and Tournament. Each of them are fun. You have a variety of teams to pick from. Each are real, too. In practice you can fight and do a a penalty shot, which will help you through out the tournaments. In exhibition mode, you pick the difficulty, your team, and the team you want to face. There are no player names or stats for a team. For tournament mode you your team and start the tournament. This is a very fun game. Each period is 20:00 long.

Graphics

For how old it is, the graphics are not that bad. But now days, people look at it and think they are really bad. But they don’t think of when it was made. The people look real and swing when you shoot or pass. I say they are pretty good. The fighting is realistic. You see all the details of the face and wrinkles in the clothing. The intermission is weird. A puck flying out of the stadium. But I'm not rating for it being weird, the graphics for that intermission is actually pretty good.

Sound

The sound is great for when it was made. When you get into fights, you here each punch thrown. When you pass or shoot the puck you here the stick hit the puck. The music is cheerful also. Great sound when you make a goal. The audience goes crazy. The music sounds challenging when your actually playing. The intermission's sound is not all that great, but still that doesn't bring it down. The show's only about 15 seconds.

Value is okay. Since it was made a long time ago, it might not be worth that much. You might not find much anywhere, not even Ebay! Some 50 years it might be worth a lot.

Controls
Rating: 8

Controls are easy to learn. A pass, B shoot, B punch in fight, etc. Since there is only 2 buttons, select, and the arrow keys, it should be easy

Last Words

I made this review for people who love tournament and hockey. Also for fighting and penalty shooting. This is a rating E for everyone. The only violence is the fighting.
