"Black & White Is the Only Way to Go for a Pink Puff-ball."

Kirby's back on the Game Boy after the success of his first game. Only now, the game is longer, harder, and much better than the original Dream Land. After all, what's better than a pink circle that can suck up, swallow, and even spit out enemies? Nothing. That's what.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 starts off much like the first Dream Land. You have to travel through the seven levels and go through the door at the end of the level to win. However, along the way, you need to collect the 7 rainbow pieces to take on the FINAL final boss. There is one in each world and will take strategy to attain. This final boss can be encountered only when you get the 7 Rainbow Pieces and go to defeat King Dedede.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 also has many firsts for the Kirby franchise. For the first time, Kirby has animal friends that aid him during his journey. There are also some mini-bosses that you will encounter in some levels. However, the biggest addition to this story is the copy ability that Kirby can use for the first time. Some of the abilities in the game include the parasol ability, the cutter ability, and the freeze ability.

Other than these things, nothing really has been changed for the Kirby gaming experience. This is really how the game sums up:

Story: 9 The game is a definite improvement from the first game and keeps you staring at the screen for a long time because of the longer game and new Rainbow Piece mission. Copying enemies also enhances the game.
Graphics: 7 For a game this old and graphically challenged by the technology available, it still delivers a good-looking game.
Audio: 7 Some of the sound is hard to decipher, but it is still pleasing for the game, and the soundtrack is so much better than the first.
Difficulty: 8 The new collecting of Rainbow Pieces and overall longer game makes it much more difficult than other games of the kind.
Replay Value: 8 You will definitely want to play this over and over to try and beat the game faster or try to get all the Rainbow Pieces.

Kirby's Dream Land 2 is no disappointment for gaming-hungry fans. So pick up the cartridge, stick into the Game Boy, and enjoy one of the best games that bears the Kirby name.
